With 350w RMS power output, I reckon it's easily worth £50 ;-)

its not much quality

i have a very very similar model which was on special offer at argos last year - 39.99 down from 60

the surround sound isnt very good as the output from the dvd player and the speaker inputs arnt very good

ideally you need something with optical

350w RMS doesn't actually mean it will reach that output, have a look what the power output is, and divide that per channel.

It gets me every time when I see 1000w pc speakers.

You would need optical output if outputting to an external AV amp, but this is an DVD/amp combined so you would not need to output to get 5.1 audio, although it doesn't process DTS, as I understand.

If on the other hand you wanted to input the 5.1 audio Sky for example, then you would need an SPDIF (optical/coaxial) input. Otherwise you would have to use phono cables (red+white) to the player/amp and use Dolby Prologic II to enable the sound to come out of all the speakers.

Point taken, but these are at least measured by the better measurement criteria, which is RMS rather than PMPO which would be around four times that figure. But at £50 you get Watt you pay for :giggle:

Shame it doesn't play DivX.

But then the 5.1 surround speakers are probably worth fifty quid so you cant really complain.
I'd buy one if I didn't already have 5 Dvd players already

Nice price Rayman

Please don't buy this thinking you will get good sound from it. Its only 50 quid, and its only a bush :giggle:

You can't say you don't get good sound from it without knowing the environment it will be used in. If it's a fairly small room, the sound is probably very good. If you expect it to be as effective in a very large room, then you're probably right.

Even at 50w RMS per speaker, this isn't bad at all for fifty quid
