This is a *2GB RAM* 8 inch Windows tablet - I assume it's quite new to Argos. Had a tinker around with a display model when instore (big queue in my store on a Friday night!) and it's definitely the right RAM.

Model number: ac80bcs.
32GB internal storage expandable to 64GB (I have a Linx 10 with a 128GB MicroSD card)

Display:
Resolution 1280 x 800 pixels.
IPS technology.
Multi-touch screen.
LED backlit display.
Support for simultaneous display of multiple languages.

Specifications:
1.8GHz Intel intel baytrail 3735g quad core processor (*actually Z3735F, see Post #5)
2GB RAM.
Windows windows 8.1 operating system.
This device can be upgraded to Windows 10 for free.

General features:
Built-in speaker.
Webcam.
Wi-Fi enabled.
Bluetooth - enabling you to easily and wirelessly connect with other Bluetooth enabled devices.
3.5mm stereo headphone jack.
Microphone.
microSD memory card slot.
1 x USB 2.0 (*not according to the Youtube video on Post #5)
Micro USB.

There's a 10" version with keyboard, weirdly listed as 1GB RAM (?), but the keyboard is fugly (£159.99 currently) argos.co.uk/sta…htm

Manual here: argos.scene7.com/is/…pdf on Page 2, says it comes with a MicroUSB charger.

I phoned the Bush Helpline, who told me the Eluma battery is 4000mAh. naughtymonkey100 (who owns the Eluma) says "..cameras are both 2MP and fairly limited use (Skype etc). You do get office 365 and 1TB of one drive space for a year." (thanks again).

You're not forced onto Windows10 if it doesn't work for you then you get a month to go back to 8.1

I have a Linx 10. Those who tried a clean install of W10 on the Linx models had problems, doing the upgrade route seemed to be easier. It's hard for me to speculate what's going on as I don't have this Bush tablet.

Not the world's greatest review but a close-up of the specs here (1:21) youtu.be/MaW…=81 says Z3735F, not Z3735G as Argos state http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Atom/Intel-Atom%20Z3735F.html

1:50 confirms that Argos have made a mistake implying this tablet has USB 2.0 https://youtu.be/MaW_jfmKx1M?t=110

I have upgraded my linx 10. It failed once. The second time round it asked if I wanted to install all the drivers. I said no and it worked great. The tablet performances and battery life are so much better now. I used to charge it every day even on standby. I can leave it on standby for 3 to 4 days now. I adored it before the upgrade. I love it now! By the way, heat added

I did the upgrade route to Windows 10 too (via Windows Update) and prepared myself by also downloading the latest drivers (from the linxtablet forum linxtablet.co.uk/pag…7d6 - you have to sign up, unfortunately, to view them) alongside. I had all sorts of problems with audio not working properly...so I did another W10 install (repair), leaving those drivers alone, and it's worked flawlessly since. I'm wondering if those drivers were my problem.

The only issue was rotation not working but the kxaccel-1.0.13.20-win8-x86.exe driver is easy enough to find, which fixed it for me. The forum thread about it is here linxtablet.co.uk/vie…815 (Linx tablets, though as this Bush is essentially the same I'm wondering if the Linx drivers will work too)?

As for this tablet, I can see one or two moaning about the battery. Can't for the life of me find out the battery capacity on this tablet anywhere! It seems very new as I can see news items about it being released for sale circa 24 July 2015 (alongside a similarly-named Bush Windows phone).

Also unsure what the camera (looks like they're front and rear) resolution(s) are!

I have done exactly the same! the linxtablet website is a god sent! Your post was so well detailed. This should help a few people.

It's a bit weird that Linx recently chose to release the Windows 10 pre-installed Linx 810 and 1010 tablets, which are pretty much the same as the originals! Could have done with a resolution/processor/RAM/camera upgrade - can't see many current Linx owners buying them! The new Linx tablets do have a USB slot but that doesn't justify the extra £s. And I'm going off-topic slightly, sorry

Essentially a Linx 8 with more RAM, so better value for new.

The only advantage the Linx 8 has is HDMI out - I don't see any mention of this for the bush.

The Linx 8 also has dual rear speakers looking at the photos of it.
Can anyone with a Linx 8 comment on the sound quality when watching movies.

I can vouch for the speakers on the Linx tablets not being that great, ie the volume could be better (I doubt very much they're dual speakers - I've seen (some) Chinese tablets reviewed with two speaker grids on the chassis. But there's actually only one speaker inside once the tablet's opened up - not sure if this is the case). I have a Linx 10, boyf has a Linx 8 and reckons they're similar-sounding.

Not unusable, just could be a bit louder for my liking. I often stream movies/videos on my Linx 10 at night.

Tried DFX Audio Enhancer but having problems using it with Windows 10 currently - yet to find a decent alternative. (Edit: Using Bongiovi Acoustics now).

Thanks Louise, I think I'll stick with my Android Lenovo as the front facing speakers are great and I mainly use it for movies.

Bought the bush b1 8" windows tablet yesterday for £79.99. Which I think is very cheap for a windows 10 tablet with 2GB of ram.
There was a windows 10 update waiting for me as soon as I logged in to my windows account. Updated without any problems. Took about an hour and quarter to download and install the update. Which I thought wasn't to bad. If you delete the old 8.1 recovery files, then you end up with 14GB of storage space. I'm using a micro sd card which I have had no problems with using or installing.
It's does have USB 2.0, you just need USB on the go cable to use it. Got one on order from Amazon for £3.95.

OTG cables are 99p from ebay - I would prefer a dedicated USB slot as it's a bit of a faff. An OTG cable is one more thing to carry when you're travelling! (The newer Linx tablets have USB).

naughtymonkey100, do you know if the front and rear cameras are an improvement than the Linx tablets? (and other generic similar Windows tablets) - on the Linx tablets they're 2MP front and rear.

How about the external speaker? Does it come with Office 365? (Though I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Microsoft have stopped giving away Office with Windows tablets).

Im assuming its a 4000mah battery and should last 5-6 hours but would like confirmation.

Original Poster

I phoned the Bush helpline here argos-support.co.uk/gui…996 (takes you to the My Tablet page when you look for further assistance) Apparently the battery is 4000mAh, the cameras are 0.2MP (?) and 2MP, not sure if that's correct, seems a bit strange!

Battery life is 6/10. I've used constantly twice, email, Netflix browsing the Web installing apps etc & it lasted just over 4hrs on both occasions. Left it asleep with wifi and location switched off and it fell to 40% in 20hrs. During that time I used it for about 1 and half hrs with wifi on.
The cameras are both 2MP and fairly limited use (Skype etc).
You do get office 365 and 1TB of one drive space for a year. It's worth noting though that office takes up 1.4GB of space on your hard drive.
Hope this helps.

Do you not like Bush or something?

It's pretty good but it needs an HDMI output that really adds another dimension to the versatility and usefulness of these things because you can use them for Kodi on your TV and friends and familes tvs etc.

It's still a good deal but the lack of an HDMI takes away a lot of versatility. It depends on your intended usage I guess.

I just don't understand why Android and Windows tablet manufacturers don't still get their heads around the issue of poor battery life which most of their tablets universally suffer. I don't really like Apple products but my wife has an iPad mini and I keep reverting to using it whenever I find my Windows or Android tablets out of juice which is often - rarely do I get more than 4-5 hours out of them while the Mini chuggs along for 10h plus. You should not have to charge your tablet twice a day and Apple certainly got that part right!!

That's what I'm looking for nice 1

The Argos site was down every time I tried to check the Eluma link - back up to £89.99 today unfortunately

Is this worth it to replace the Nexus 7? I lost mine so am looking for a new tablet to replace for a reasonable price. Thanks!

First of all if you download chrome and have chromecast then that relieves some off the snags of no hdmi. Secondly I think the battery js down to costs. Like I said before, I only paid £79.99 for it. Although I believe now its gone back up to £89.99 still a bargain though.
As for replacing a Nexus, that all depends on what you want it for. Windows market place is nothing like Google play, however having said that. You can download full exec programs on to the tablet. I did notice though that large anti-virus programs slow it right down. Windows defender has got much better though, so I'm sticking to that.
Having now got my USB on the go cable, I find the tablet really useful. I no longer need to switch my Laptop on to edit photos or keep my phone up to date. As I can now just plug it in to the table.
All I need now is a Bluetooth keyboard with a mouse and ill be set.
Originally I gave the tablet a score of 7.5 out of 10, but now after nearly a week I'd have to put that up to 8.5 its well worth the money.

Cold cause it's bush

Luckly I could replace it and get another one. One month later( today) I try update to win 10 thinking probably this issue would be solved. I have the same issue... I'm thinking return win 8 since I have this time old win to revert. But I would like to know if there is any solution before go back... I've been checking win website forums but I can't go trough this... I've been seen some other users even the review on YouTube and it doesn't seem anyone have this issue... Please anyone can help? I really be grateful.
