Does anyone know if I can plug this into the aux port in my car?

Yep works fine use one in mine.

Quite a few people have left comments on the Argos site, saying they use it for that purpose.

Okay thanks, might give it a try for under £20.

Well this is typical, bought it last week for £20 using the £10 for £5 voucher, so I could have got it for £13.74.... No matter, all I can say about it is what an amazing little radio for the money. Rechargeable, and does the full scrolling text display - and you can display other data instead if you prefer. Works really very well and I was very surprised how good it is.

I was going to buy one of the Pure or Roberts ones around £70, but when I found out that DAB+ is not available in UK and the people involved are still only talking about it I decided a cheapo one was the way to go and I am very pleased I did.

The headphones that come with it are the wedge-in type, I changed them for some Sennheiser ones that I already have that fit without wedging in your earhole and it works fine (headphone wire acts as the antenna. The first radio that Argos fetched from round the back for me was an unsealed box that had clearly been opened. I rejected it and got a sealed one. Watch out for that at Argos, 3rd time it has happened to me.

Hot deal.

Approx size is 10cm x 3cm x 2cm so quite chunky.

Reserved. Many thanks

Picked up from Argos. Didn't realise it comes with a battery built in. Also included ear buds and charging cable, no plug.

You can store 10 pre-sets. I'm going to use this for my car only. For people travelling to Europe, it doesn't support DAB+

Questionable reviews on argos site but cheapest on the market as far I know.

Reserved, thanks.

Reserved - if it doesn't work in the car it'll be fine for use in the office.

Can't imagine reception is too great on such a small internal antenna when used in a car on the move or in an office building?

Uses the aux or phono cable like your old Nokia.

Stupid Argos and their vouchers, I got one but as it was for an online home delivery order I cannot use in store

Grr anyway hot at this price

Thanks OP, ordered and heated.

Smart - reserved and thanks for posting.

Heated and ordered, good find...

Is it worth buying 3 Years Replacement Product Care for an extra £7.49 as well ?

Specially made for your bush pocket? Can you set it on vibrate? so many questions.

Picked up mine this morning...

The sound quality is pretty poor (bad amp) and the presets are awkward to access (easier to just scroll through the list of stations).

BUT under £20 for a rechargeable DAB it's a good deal!

Can charge via USB while listening to the radio - just what I needed for my car (via AUX).

Thanks OP!

picked up one this morning and cheap and fine for £19 but I can't get it to work in my car via AUX (Skoda Octavia - Bolero stereo) - even with the earphones plugged in and it sat on the dash I got about 10 secs of breaking up reception on a 7 mile journey back home - but suspect the edges of the Peak District obviously don't have a good enough DAB signal for use inside of the car.

Had a look for DAB aerials for a car but as the audio output and the aerial are integrated then nothing suitable, tried a 3.5mm splitter but this didn't work with headphones plugged in so suspect the splitter wiring is slightly different and not passing through the connection to the headphones.

Will try with another 3.5mm to 3.5mm extension cable (one I use normally with smartphone for audio is fine though).

Cheers anyway as still a good deal - but beware results may be very mixed in a car.

Works fine at home with the headphones plugged in - but kind of wanted it for the car :-(

Agree with post #20 - the sound output via the supplied headphones is very tinny. I tried a much more expensive set of headphones and they barely worked at all due to their limits when acting as an antenna. I haven't tried in my car yet but I'm not expecting much in the way of quality especially compared to the high standard of my cars FM tuner.

Great item, aux works fine in car..

Great item, works fine in car with aux..

Works we'll for me,only had it for a couple of hours, good level of volume through my ear phones, agree with other post, bit of a chore saving presets, but for under £20 not bad at all !!

Thanks OP

Thanks OP. Seems really good.

Picked it up this morning and works a treat in the car. No issues. Nice one.

Works well in a nissan qashqai! Sweet deal! Hot!

Previously had a Pure, then a Bush personal Dab; both disappointing dab reception;
Have my doubts regarding Dab signal reception without Goonhilly on the car roof.
Should I risk £20 a third time?

Anyone else finding the unit needs a tiny bit of charge via USB to start up ?
I left it last night with plenty of charge in it but it wouldn't turn on this morning. I connected the power and it started up fine.

why does it say "10 different shows to choose from"? Surely it gives you access to loads and loads of radio channels at high quality, not specific shows? am i missing something? never had DAB before, but would like to add this to my car via aux.

A "Full Scan" in my kitchen picked up 60+ stations.
You can via judicious use of the 3 navigation buttons attribute 10 of those to presets.
Then, similar judicious use of the 3 navigation buttons allows you to select 1 from 10 rather than scrolling thru the 60+

Very happy with it in the house.
No cable from Goonhilly needed.
Terrific value tiny personal Dab radio.
Listening to Classic FM on DAB.
In car test scheduled tomorrow.
Will let you know.

That's a typo. You should pick up all the DAB stations in your area. I am on my second now as the first had battery drain issues. Haven't tested this new one out yet so I hope it works better.

Update - It is working very well in the car. The lead runs into the glove box from the back of the head unit. New radio has much better battery life.

Sick and tired of losing my 3G connection whilst listening to LBC, I decided to buy a handheld DAB radio and this is the cheapest I've found. Will be ordering soon.

Will it work in Europe?

5 month update. Fantastic Radio with my CX300 headphones.

Good Stuff!

23 month update. Great Radio but power switch broke after much use. Was a bit flimsy I guess. Bought another but the design has changed (bigger and bulkier) even though I think the code is the same and one of the online photos is still the older model. Currently 19.99 from 24.99
