Found 8th May 2016
Try again, previous post got nobbled due to inappropriate link (sorry for that).

Deal works till end of March 17, cheapest deals are OJ via Pisa and Germany. Sample dates 12th - 22nd March for about 1340 euros. Straight returns from many German cities from about 1600 euros.

Would post a screen shot, but don't know how

Heat for your gratuitous use of the word nobbled!
Are you able to give some example dates and cities? Im finding none around that price.

PISA - AKL - PISA 19/12 - 12/01 £1073 if that helps

It's a published deal from many places, it's also all over FlyerTalk? Your point is?

My original post got nobbled because of a link to the SF web site.

If you're looking for decency then why doesn't the SF website mention that their 'update' was based on feedback from the Flyertalk website.

'The deals nobody else knows about'? I think not.
Most of SF comes from Flyertalk and the various forums across there, and they have previously posted some of my flight deals too!
look hot
perfect timing - trying to get to family in August - around 14th but cannot find any inspite spending near on an hour with different european locations as starting points....
ok - found the Pisa ones - blimey - thats amazing!! and they are dropping down in numbers fast!
Wish I had that much money. Heat for the deal though.
Just booked 2 to go from Pisa 17th December - 5th Jan for about £1100 each. I can't believe it! Thanks OP!
Great deal if only I could find one.
Don't make the mistake I made with their website - Halifax rejected the payment (as they often do with large amounts). Once I'd sorted it with them I carried on - the site had the same times selected but it had defaulted back to economy with near identical fares to this promo.
Economy for 6+16 hour flights with no stop over isn't good. I rang the call centre and they initially quoted the normal business class fares but after half an hour discussion with supervisors they upgraded me to the promo fare for the difference in price - phew!!
Great price.... Qatar business is worth the upgrade.
Deal expired 9/5/16

Flights until 31 Jan cancelled?

That's not what the link says. They are no longer taking bookings for December or January because the direct service isn't starting until February (due to the delay in A350 roll outs). There is plenty of info on the Frequent Flyer site on what will happen to current bookings.

Majority view is that instead of a direct flight in an older 777LR, you'll get bumped onto a newer service to Aus and then Qantas or Air NZ across the Tasman sea. So on the positive side you get a nicer plane and more air miles, draw back is it will take a bit longer.

Nothing is decided so anyone booked for December or Jan needs to keep in contact with Qatar

My flight on 1 Feb (was Pisa>Doha>Akl) has been changed to just Doha>Sydney. I called them and they say the new plane won't be delivered by 1 Feb. But to make matters worse their policy (as of 17 Feb 8am) is you have to pay for the difference in fare for replacement flights (Pisa to Doha to Syd to Akl) or have a refund. In my case the difference for 2 people is over £2000 on top of the fares.
What an incompetent airline. It is their screw up so they should be covering the cost of rerouting (which will be adding 10+ hours to my flight duration).
The call centre did say customers are very angry about this policy and that the policy may change if there is bad publicity and reviews online. It was helpful of them to tell me this, I was quite surprised at their honesty!

That seems to be against the law according to European regulations so they might just be trying it on?

en.wikipedia.org/wik…004

states that:

passengers are automatically entitled to their choice of (a.) re-routing to the same destination at the earliest opportunity (under comparable conditions); (b.) later rerouting, at the passenger's convenience, to the same destination under comparable conditions (subject to seat availability); or (c.) a refund of the ticket as well as a return flight to the point of first departure, when relevant.
Cheers Kerridge0 - I emailed Simon Calder from the Independent and he mentioned the same EU regulation. Good on the EU for stopping the airlines from charging more when they decide to cancel flights. I'm going to try and get something in writing from Qatar tomorrow as that way SC will be able to chase them - I suspect they'll back down when they realise I'm not willing to pay a £2k+ supplement to my fare. Though I suspect others will pay not realising they don't have to.

Hi Patrick_000 - just had a thought. Have you looked into the option of flying 5 or more days later at around 6th Feb when - in theory - they will have the planes? This might be allowable by the regs as it's quite close to your original flight dates.
Kerridge - the problem is that I booked those dates in order to attend a wedding and have also booked (non-refundable) LHR-PSA and NZ internal flights to coincide with the Qatar flights. If I knew that Qatar were selling tickets they may not be able to honour then I'd have booked elsewhere as I don't need the stress!
They rebooked us all offering various options. We took pisa-Doha-hong Kong-Auckland (last leg on Cathay Pacific) then Akl-Doha-Pisa on return leg. On this flight now at Hong Kong.
Cathay Pacific are saying business full and asking if we want to downgrade to premium economy for the HK-Akl flight with £1600 per person compensation. The Pisa-Auckland return flight cost £1100 so my fingers are crossed that one or both of us gets downgraded.
Thanks for posting the deal Llantarnam -- there seem to be a lot of others travelling the same route today.

Nice! Would that mean you effectively get paid to fly to Auckland? Hope you enjoy the flight back.
