OP if you don't want to spend £200+ in one go, stick it on a 0% purchases card or something and pay it back over X period! Don't sign up for a terrible monthly contract instead.

No wonder there's concern about the level of debt in this country.. people struggling to come to terms with spending £125 but are happy to sign up to a £350 debt instead because it's "only £9.60 a month"

WoW that almost double what the tab is worth (you can just use your mobile as a hotspot for 500mb), u better off buying from John Lewis on a 0% CC if you didn't wanna pay upfront. £179 or even Very £199

Good luck finding an SSD at this capacity and money.

I'd buy one for my desktop, 5,200rpm is perfectly reasonable for a storage drive, but I just had a WD 6tb one die on me. I'm grieving over the data I lost.... All that porn took me ages to find.

Do is this 10bit panel or 8???

Anything with a 10bit panel around this price or max.£900?

I purchased the 50inch 4k Hiense and was slightly skeptical a couple weeks back before taking the plunge for 370ish and so far its been amazing! as soon as I plugged her in it was asking me to perform an update to allow for HDR support so there is now an option to select this. Have been watching some Netflix and some Blu-ray movies and it really does look stunning. I owned a 43 inch 1080p Samsung before this which was similarly priced back when I bought it so very happy

Original Poster

They put the price up (_;)

So what is the major difference between this and the H55M3300 and is it worth paying £200 extra for?

I keep being drawn to these Hisense deals they certainly are priced and spec'd well for the £700 mark against similar LG and Samsung models. 55" is probably the biggest I would want to go with.

It's quiet, cool and fast.

Google Drive has never worked.
The support mechanism is to phone them - no direct support through the DLink forum which states it's for USA owners although luckily this is ignored.
The individual who creates additional addons has no financial support or any other support from DLink yet without him the DLink NAS is nothing more than a LAN storage device that might play some media files.
Had one for 18months.
Would I recommend? Hell no
And let's not forget if you own an IP cam to use their MySurveillance tool it must be a DLink camera (overpriced).
As to the price - it's normal
Oh I nearly forgot! I was informed in one discussion that the 320L is possibly coming to EOL (End Of Life) meaning firmware updates might not be released.

what controller? I'd guess it was a fakeraid-type one, that actually … what controller? I'd guess it was a fakeraid-type one, that actually relies on drivers to do all the work inside an OS rather than a true hardware card.

Yeah, it was. Not that it was advertised that way to me, when I bought it, of course. But then, I knew a lot more about RAID by the time I was finished than I did going into it, not that any of it helped me.

I'm running one of these with a BTRFS array. The biggest limitation is it only takes 4 x 3.5" drives and a 2.5" SSD under the optical... so you can't have huge disk array. I've got another caddy to turn the optical+SSD bay into another 3.5" bay. Onboard it only has 5xSATA ports too.

wild_quinine

I lost data to RAID5. 3 disks, and I lost everything. Controller failure … I lost data to RAID5. 3 disks, and I lost everything. Controller failure as far as I can tell, at any rate the disks were all fine and carried on for years after a reformat. Basically one disk just got dropped, and the controller refused to either pick it up or build onto another disk.Had no backups, because it was all stuff that wasn't critical so it's not so much of a sob story as a cautionary tale, but my word it was irritating at the time. Tried everything to get it to rebuild, and in the end just gave it up as a bad job.So my experience of RAID5 is that it's a bloody liability.

what controller? I'd guess it was a fakeraid-type one, that actually relies on drivers to do all the work inside an OS rather than a true hardware card.

It's another reason to go with software RAID though - it can be tricky (one wrong move during a tricky recovery and your data is toast), but if you know what you're doing you can recover pretty much anything without being dependent on a particular set of hardware, disk interface or even operating system.
