About Butlins
For around 80 years the name of Billy Butlins has been synonymous with the great British holiday. When he opened his first camp back in 1936, he changed the face of family breaks. After a drab stay in a guest house on Barry Island, Billy decided holidays needed colour, fun, activities and entertainment and the concept of the holiday camp was born. The first Butlins camp was in Skegness where there is still a Butlins resort to this day. Billy Butlins also pioneered holiday entertainment, introducing holiday hosts and entertainers who wore the famous red jackets. Butlins Redcoats are still helping you to have a fabulous holiday today. At its peak between 1936 and 1966, Butlins operated 10 camps (eight in the UK, one in Ireland and one in the Bahamas) as well as large hotels. Package tour competition led to a scaling back and Butlins now focuses on providing excellent quality in just three resorts - Skegness, Minehead and Bognor Regis.

Bognor RegisThe Bognor Regis resort borders the South Downs National Park and has both sand and shingle beaches close by. As well as a wealth of onsite activities, the resort is close to Arundel Castle, Chichester Abbey and the Roman ruins at Fishbourne, all perfect locations for a day out.

Included in your room:
  • One, two or three bedrooms with double and twin beds
  • Bathroom with shower
  • All rooms come with a TV and free Essential WiFi. Towels and daily housekeeping are not included
  • Rooms are located on the ground and first floors

Accessible accommodation: If you're looking for disabled or adapted accommodation, please give us a call on 0330 100 9334 so one of our team can listen to your individual needs and help you plan your holiday.

Hope it helps you

    Hi

What does blue light card mean?

The premium dining option is far more expensive than usual which negates the saving on the rooms, shame.

I do warn against butlins, Last year we went to minehead, silver, and it was disgusting. Bogies and blood on the walls, carpets frayed and stains, sofa had male juices on it, pillow were yellow and beds were stained. Bathroom fan was like a jet engine, we couldnt use the bathroom at night because it would wake all 6 of us. Customer service was also useless, they gave us a small refund in vouchers but could not be used for anything other than food, which we self catered. At the time they told us we can use them on anything in the park but alcoholic drinks, which was a lie. I'll stick to Haven from now on. (edited)

In general accommodation is better at Bognor. Plus for a little more you've got the hotel options which are well worth it.

Half term 4 nights is like £415. Could possibly go to a warmer country for that amount

Good price, 4 nights of warm living. Probably spend that much just on my own heating bill over 4 nights...

Been here a couple of times. If you’re only concerned about your kids then it’s fantastic. They love it and no matter what other holidays we do they always ask when we are going back to Butlins. If you’re wanting a bit more for yourself then you’ll probably grumble at the accommodation etc. great price

Yep, mine too, went earlier in the year to Bognor on the Justin Fletcher week and my daughter loved it, she obviously couldn't give a damn about the spec of the accommodation etc. although we found it completely fine.

My wife and I stayed in a New Style Silver Apartment for 4 nights in November for £99 and it was comfortable enough and facilities adequate for self catering. We didn't use any of the site entertainment but for younger couples with children there's plenty to do. We more used it as a base to explore local attractions such as the Weald and Downland Museum where The Repair Shop is and various other places.

And the two hotels r like 75£ so good value. Park over road is nice for breakfast and a walk.

Do your research before booking and make your own mind up but bad reviews are a plenty you may also find interesting Video’s online showing how tired and in need of massive investment these places are hence £49 for 4 nights -
    So please do your research

just got back from bognor Butlins (came back 22nd December) , we stayed in the wave hotel . it was super warm (too warm actually we had to strip the beds and keep the balcony door open.

the pool is great fun for kids , and lots of shows etc. the place is under going (much needed) refurbishment so part of it is like a building site.... but if you are looking for somewhere to go for those dates with the kids you really can't go wrong at that price.
the beach is stony at the top and sandy when the tide is out. great for spending an HR or so which is likely all you want this time of year.

bedding was spotlessly clean..... but I was concerned to see no mattress protectors.on. we had a 6 year old at the time, generally ok but has the odd rare accident in the night. we took our own cover just in case but many would not so I was concerned at the lack of protectors. but that said the mattresses seemed clean. Already booked here for Feb half term 2023. Just me and my 6 year old daughter. Looking forward as we’ve been to Skegness before but not this one.

Also looking forward to possibly making a friend or 2 for play dates for her as don’t want her getting bored and myself being the only other person she can play with.

    Many thanks (edited)

Ah Butlins Bognor, I used to work there…I have seen a lot Basically it is a gamble with cleanliness in rooms. But this time of year, when it’s so quiet, everything should be much cleaner than in high season when employees are overworked.

Silver rooms are pretty old, but they change mattresses regularly.

Overall it’s a good deal, even if not everything is open there will be enough to do. There are many restaurants in town, and a small cinema next to the train station. For more you can always take a short trip to Chichester.

Bognor Regis is probably my favourite "caravan holiday" location, never used Butlins though so I can't comment on the service

I tried booking for 4 nights 6th February for myself and partner and they phoned me this morning to cancel the booking as the mid-week (Mon-Fri) breaks are for families only and they do not allow adult only groups, seriously, two 50 somethings just looking for a cheap break and we don't 'fit their criteria'!
