About Butlins
For around 80 years the name of Billy Butlins has been synonymous with the great British holiday. When he opened his first camp back in 1936, he changed the face of family breaks. After a drab stay in a guest house on Barry Island, Billy decided holidays needed colour, fun, activities and entertainment and the concept of the holiday camp was born. The first Butlins camp was in Skegness where there is still a Butlins resort to this day. Billy Butlins also pioneered holiday entertainment, introducing holiday hosts and entertainers who wore the famous red jackets. Butlins Redcoats are still helping you to have a fabulous holiday today. At its peak between 1936 and 1966, Butlins operated 10 camps (eight in the UK, one in Ireland and one in the Bahamas) as well as large hotels. Package tour competition led to a scaling back and Butlins now focuses on providing excellent quality in just three resorts - Skegness, Minehead and Bognor Regis.
Bognor RegisThe Bognor Regis resort borders the South Downs National Park and has both sand and shingle beaches close by. As well as a wealth of onsite activities, the resort is close to Arundel Castle, Chichester Abbey and the Roman ruins at Fishbourne, all perfect locations for a day out.

the pool is great fun for kids , and lots of shows etc. the place is under going (much needed) refurbishment so part of it is like a building site.... but if you are looking for somewhere to go for those dates with the kids you really can't go wrong at that price.
the beach is stony at the top and sandy when the tide is out. great for spending an HR or so which is likely all you want this time of year.
bedding was spotlessly clean..... but I was concerned to see no mattress protectors.on. we had a 6 year old at the time, generally ok but has the odd rare accident in the night. we took our own cover just in case but many would not so I was concerned at the lack of protectors. but that said the mattresses seemed clean. Also looking forward to possibly making a friend or 2 for play dates for her as don’t want her getting bored and myself being the only other person she can play with.
Many thanks (edited)
Silver rooms are pretty old, but they change mattresses regularly.
Overall it’s a good deal, even if not everything is open there will be enough to do. There are many restaurants in town, and a small cinema next to the train station. For more you can always take a short trip to Chichester.
