Personally i don't like the UK mountain dew but i love the american mountain dew, as do the kids.
Usually pay about £1.40 a can when i can find it but just found this deal on American Soda where you can get 24 cans FREE for a limited time.
Works out at just under 48p a can so a nice saving if you buy it regularly.

I know these fizzy drinks are bad for you but i think like everything, they're ok in moderation and as a treat.

Maybe go halves with someone, like i did
Hope this helps someone else out.

The great citrus taste of Mountain Dew is BACK!
Refreshing and energising, there's nothing like a can of Dew and we're delighted to bring it to thirsty UK and European soda fans. Get it in your basket now!

EDIT* Use code TYVM10 for the extra 10% off.

FYI it says that this is a European recipe based on the American one which means that it'll taste slightly orangey. Still much better than the British one, but not quite as good as the American one.

Oh ok, thanks.
Tastes pretty good to me

Just wanted to say thanks for linking us to this site I am not interested in mountain dew but I have discovered some amazing stuff on this website which I cant wait to buy.

Said £3.99 p+p

just under 44p a can, worth it?

COLD! Please read product description! Proper Mountain Dew is made in the USA not EU.

Please Note:This is an EU product based on the American recipe.

I live quite close to the warehouse might pop in! There might be a deal to be done!

this is more expensive than alcohol.....................

Asda super strength cider!

I have some of these and I get the proper american stuff through a friend who works for the american base and I can tell you, this is nowhere near the taste of proper american mountain dew. However it is not the hideous energy drink orangey garbage they make for the eu.

What happened to the real Mountain Dew ... I loved that stuff ... 44p a can though

I used to buy the American version from stateside candy store.

About two years ago they were contacted by Pepsi regarding the sale of imported American MD (and other Pepsi products) - basically it was like a cease and desist or whatever its called. Their lawyers don't want it sold in the UK.

The taste is crap if you ever tried real american one.

Be aware that American fizzy drinks often contain chemicals that are deemed carcinogenic by the EU and are banned in the UK!

With the discount doesn't it work out to £21.08?

whats the BBD?

£23 for 48 cans of anything isn't a bad offer.
And although not the US stuff - still worth a try.

Ordered & Heat

It's worth 48p a can. Have some heat

Strange, that is exactly why the US and Canada banned Irn Bru.

They had this on pump for free when I was in the disney hotel at Disneyworld. YUM YUM!!

HOT, this stuff is awesome.

Worth checking out Mellow Yellow as well, it's a bit closer to the original US MD flavour.

Its the high fructose corn syrup which tends to get replaced. Its used heavily in US, but didn't really take off in the EU until recently.
The US tends to be a business orientated if there is a lot of profit in an ingredient it slips through the regulations. The UK take a everything the EU recommend to heart (more then any other EU country it would seem) and ban a lot of things.
Its greedy state vs nanny state.

Interesting semi-related fact.
UK eggs are banned the in US and US eggs are banned in the UK.
UK law states eggs can't be washed, this is to show that the chicken hasn't been living in poor conditions (ie its own faeces).
US law states eggs must be washed to avoid any illness as the US doesn't vaccinate there chickens. It always means they can make them cheaper as they don't have to ensure the chickens are kept as well.
Washed eggs don't keep long as must me refrigerated. That's why you always see people buying eggs and they always get them from the fridge on US programmes.

Ignoring your EU bashing, it's actually Brominated vegetable oil which was common in US soda that is banned in the EU. PepsiCo et al have decided to remove it from US drinks now as well (as of this year) so I guess that is why proper MD can be imported to the EU again.

They replace the high fructose corn syrup because it was/isn't not a common ingredient in the EU so it was easier/cheaper to replace it with a more common one then import it from outside the EU. I never said it was on the/a banned list, its just a key ingredient which is/was commonly replaced, even if they had everything else if they don't have hfcs it wouldn't taste like the US version.

I wasn't EU bashing I was simply saying the UK sees a EU regulation and jump in trying to keep up with it. The other countries either wait until they regulation required date, fight it or ignore it until they can implement a better solution for there country.

very similar ingredients( even down to using high fructose corn syrup for sweetening), apart from MD having cafine. kind of like saying Pepsi is nothing like Coke
