Looking at buying a new contract and liked the look of the Oppo Find x5 (or preferably the Pro, if the prices come down a bit). Came across the offer of the free Oppo Pad air, and thought it may interest someone.

The big problem with this deal is this.

48 hours ago, the Find X5 Pro was about £740. The X5 was £450. The air pad tablet is pretty naff too. It's listed as about £220 retail.

Now black friday has finished, the X5 Pro is back up to £1049, X5 £749.

SO instead of giving you massive discounts on the phone, they have gone back to list price and are giving you a small tablet instead that's £230, now the £230 is much less than the big deals a couple of days ago.

    Sly work really.

Not only that, all the airtime contract deals for both phones on all available networks have gone up by about £15 per month on 2 year deals, this means to get a free tablet worth £230 you'll be stung by an extra £350 over 2 years and lets not forget the RPI increases on the contracts too.

This offer is about as Ice Cold as it gets from Oppo.

Don't be fooled by this tablet deal, it's rubbish the tablet anyway. Hold on for some more sale deals nearer xmas or after I'd say.
That's a shame, but I suppose they are doing the same as most other companies at the minute. The deal may still suit someone that is specifically after a phone and tablet for Xmas..?

The Find X5 Pro was £7xx last weekend. Back up to over £1000 now. Too much for me even with the £200 free pad., I'll stick with my X2 Pro which by many accounts is better than the X3 Pro and is still very fast and has 512GB storage compared to newer models with only 256GB. The X5 can be bought used from Cex for £500, Grade B, in Black, with 24month warranty. Got my X2 from them, Grade B, and it was in as-new condition - but best assume I got lucky.
I have an x3 neo, and just fancy an upgrade. The pad is a nice bonus, which I'm hoping would be a good replacement for my old galaxy tab s

    "Pad Air" lol

Surprised Apple's lawyers let them get away with that one.

Enjoying my oppo 5 pro. Lots to like about it, solid phone feels good in the hand. I just had to quit on a Samsung s22 ultra which seemed huge compared. I really liked the ultra's interface but it was so greedy on battery. And died within a couple of weeks. This was the next best thing and a much more fluid experience and better package. You get 256GB ram stock which is great and the camera is much better, especially the OIS and jpeg processing. The processing on the s22 is close to unusable for me - good if you shoot raw or 108mb but other modes are not good are over-processed.

I managed to get color os 13 by forcing it on a french VPN connection. (edited)
Agree, x5 pro very smooth experience, decent battery and rapid charging

Had the x2 Pro and moved on to the honor magic 4 Pro. Feels alot like the x2 build and quality but with x5 Pro speed and specs. Worth a look if you don't like the x5 Pro prices. Or prices should drop once the x6 family launch.

Thanks for posting and well done on your first hotukdeals thread

Allegedly x5 pro is a fingerprint magnet and scratches very easily on the glass so a lot of care needed. Doesn't matter too much in a case and with protector. Just one of the downsides.

I am just looking at a new contract, around the £25 per month, and there are plenty of options at that price.

Best looking phone of 2022 the X5 Pro. It's highly rated in all areas too (internals, camera, screen, charging). Only prob is itsnot cheap. So this looks like a good deal depending on the Air pad's rrp.

I've literally got the find x5 pro this week, typical
Do you like the device? How’s the camera?
  19. Avatar
You have to buy both to get the tablet? Bit of a strange offer. Or should it be "or" instead of "&"?
Only one but either x5 pro or x5

Considering getting this phone off ebay reseller when the prices calm down a bit. Does it have curved edges? Screen protector could be a huge issue. Are there any cases out there which protect both the phone and the camera lens? That and the screen is one of my bug bears about new phones and protection

Whats Face ID like and does Internet banking work ok with Face ID? Can I add my barclaycard and first direct debit card on the wallet? (edited)
The official case protects the lenses with a slight lip. It comes with a screen protector fitted. Yes it has slightly curved edges. Can't see it being an issue I always fitted screen protectors to my pf30pro, and that had curves.
