It’s also oos for delivery which is a good indicator it’s oos everywhere.

Pity though because it looks good for the money

near me

Shame as it's a good budget telly (once you've messed with the colour profiles) - I have one

Have the 55 inch version of this and it’s a great tv for the money
In stock in Antrim, Homebase in Northern Ireland if anyone wants one.

Hey Guys most of the places it is oos.
hate when sites link to out of stock items.
Ambilight?
Got one of these

Great for the money, and the HDR is fairly good but also hit and miss in some content

I found the HDR absolutely awful on Forza Horizon 3, meanwhile Uncharted 4 and Logan 4K were stunning
Gah oos in nearest 50 stores to me
OoS everywhere near me.
Got this about 6 months ago.

Can't fault it for the price.
does this come with android or have Philips remove it?
Goose chase.
This model was released in 2016 and Argos have been selling the new model for ages. Stock will be more or less non existent.

Ambilight?

Side-mounted LEDs that mimick the screen edge colour.
It's supposed to help your eyes in a darkened room and make the blacks seem darker by having a nearby light source to contrast against.
I thought it was a gimmick at first but it's pretty good actually - hardly a killer feature but worth having.
OOS
I have the 43" version of this and LOVE it. I already had Hue and you can link the TV with your existing bulbs. Android TV has had a lot of updates and is plenty fast and responsive on the Philips. The black levels aren't the best, and backlight can be patchy on dark scenes but at this price it's acceptable. Ambilight really makes this though. 4K with HDR support, although not true HDR. It detects HDR signal and uses it to help with dynamic contrast but not as good as more expensive sets. Amazon app often goes out of sync, especially with 4K content. Netflix and Youtube work great. Overall hard to beat for the price and I will definitely be looking at Philips and Ambilight when we replace the 55" sometime in the future.

I got this last year cheap from Argos, not terrible picture but bad blacks and light bleed. Android system is glitchy and occasionally have to hard reset. I kept the telly as picture is good in daytime. At nightime blacks really annoy unfortunately. I wish I had paid more or just stuck with 1080p and bought a better panel/brand.

I've had no problems really with the blacks (watched Godless on it last night via my Samsung 4k player running media content and it was immaculate) got the 49 inch one too. Bit of light bleed in lower left corner but seem to have neutralised that now after rubbing with a microfiber cloth. I understand these can be hit or miss - like a lot of TVs - though so you may have picked up a bad one.

Got it delivered yesterday, colours are pretty messed up, reds and blues are way too oversaturated whites overblown blacks are basically grey I'm thinking of sending it back.

Don't - it's a great telly but like I said, there's some tweaking to be done... gimme a few minutes and I'll get you the best settings for it but for now choose the "ISF Day" colour profile.

Edit
- Here's my tips:
1. "Photo" or "ISA Day" are the best colour presets but the perfect balance can only be found manually - watch this video for the best settings:

2. Update the firmware immediately - a few features (like Netflilx HDR) and a lot of stability problems have been addressed in the latest firmware.
3. Go into the menus and enable 4:4:4 / 4:2:2 to get HDR from external sources.
4. Use the Internet as the source for your EPG (icon in the top right of the guide)
5. Turn the sharpness down or off for 4K sources (causes intermittent flickering)
6. You'll want to hide the Philips Apps section on the home screen as they're out of date and duplicated below - go into Apps settings, find Leanback Customizer and turn off notifications.
7. You can sideload apps with ES File Manager and launch them with Sideload Launcher.
8. If you run out of storage, you can move apps to a USB stick.

I think it's personal experience of good blacks, my other screen is a very old 2010 plasma Panasonic, and the Philips is just no where near it. As I said not a bad picture but no good at blacks at all imho.
Thanks a lot I just changed colour profile from standard to isa day and already see a huge difference. I watched the video too will apply these changes when I'll get back home but it's all look promising. I don't understand why philips would set all this wacky colours as standard profile, when Iplayed blue planet II in 4k (that's why I bought it in the first place) I was in shock how bad quality the picture was, but now all looks good. Cheers
