Title pretty self explanatory. Good if you need other stuff from Boots anyway. Admittedly it is rather a lot for a hairdryer but if you're one of those people that needs the best of everything then this may be for you.

Does it come with a karaoke machine or is it just a mic?

Not sure, but if you turn it on it stops you having to hear your own voice.

Agreed, but who knows? Perhaps it is ahead of its time and all hairdryers will use a similar design in future years!
Wondering how long till such things will sell for 29.90
I've tried the Dyson hairdryer and honestly don't see what the hype is about.

It dried my hair no quicker than my £20 one and left it feeling no different.

I have fine hair, and lots of it, so maybe it's just not suited to my hair but even at £80 I wouldn't buy one.

I also don't like my friend's GHD air hairdryer as I find it too heavy.

My hairdryer recently died but I replaced the fuse and brought it back to life, it's a trooper
Bought one of these for my wife when it launched. Excellent bit of kit.
I have had once since launch and I would say they look really nice but as an actual hairdryer, it’s not worth the cost.
Love mine had since last Xmas - Dries in half the time and makes it so soft and looks so much nicer since i have been using it, also lightweight, Would Recommend..

Not at 10 times the price of a normal drier that does exactly the same thing, they won't.
I know a professional hairdresser who has some very posh clients and she bought one of these when they came out intending to see if it would be viable to give them to her staff. Like all Dyson products it is over-hyped and way overpriced.

Oh that reminds me I must remember to buy that desk lamp for £400 as well.
Frustrating, I bought one just on Tuesday from boots. Topcashback tracked at 5%, when I made purchase = extra £15
If i dried my hair i would buy this. Always hated drying my hair. Just wipe it and comb it. Its long but still dries by itsel
£300 for a hairdryer!!!! ....utter madness.
My wife has one and says they are rubbish..
Is it true that, under International Law, you can only use this while over International Waters - just like Concorde??
Have a watch of a video by aVe on YouTube where he disassembled this. He proves that it is nothing but a standard hairdryer. There’s literally nothing different about it whatsoever. Marketing hype, nothing else.
Great, now it's only £140 overpriced.

Hot.
Dyson has form in dressing products so they appear to have novel function and design, when the truth is far more mundane. Like his "fanless" heater that has a cheap fan in the base. The marketing graphic suggest it works 'by magic'. Even before his unreliable vacs came out he was peddling folding bikes. The guy has always sought a USP in order to enrich himself. Put a used toilet roll tube on a regular hairdryer for a similar effect save yourself £300
Beat hairdryer ever! Worth every penny !

Hi James
Really!! £300 for a hair dryer. I'm howling with laughter.
Hope it's better than there over priced vacuums

There is obviously some merit in this design from the reviews, but £300 is bonkers. Really needs to be £149 to warrant consideration.
Got my wife one of these for her birthday (luckily didnt pay anywhere near £300 at all), Wife loves it - justified purchase as a hairdryer is something she uses every day and it is alot quieter then her previous dryer (so isnt waking our baby up), and she does seem to get her hair dried faster with a better finish. Is it worth £300.........im not sure since to use £300 is a sizeable amount of cash, will it hold resale value - probably alot better than a £30 hairdryer which are throwaway items, but then its the same argument for all premium brand goods isnt it? Why pay £1500 for an OLED TV when you can get a LCD TV of same size for £500 - same applies here.

There is not merit. Its people who dont want to abmit they have been robbed. As the comment above. Watch the AVE video on youtube.. This ia £300 of marketing w**k
The reviews of this online tell you all you need to know. Overpriced and no more effective than a £50-80 hairdryer.
It might be good but not £300 good, honestly I won't understand why people pay so much for things like this when for £100's less you can get something that will perform similar, maybe not as good but £100's less...
I bought the Wife one of these last year. It is extremely quiet in operation.

She said it is the best hairdryer she has ever owned. It is expensive, but quality always is.
It blows hot air, it’s not gonna miraculously make your hair all nice and soft, buy one for £20, does the same thing
There are tear-downs on Youtube. It's a clever design, with a ultra-high-rpm fan in the handle. Looked like it can't be disassembled without destroying it, so hope it doesn't break. I never used a hairdryer, but I suspect a conventional design would work as well at 1/10th of the cost. I would say save your money, unless you really don't know what to do with it. :-/
parlux are the kings of hairdryers, and a quarter of the price..
Cold.
Not an idryer

At least an OLED is objectively superior to LCD with a noticeable difference in picture quality to somewhat justify its price difference. This is genuinely no better than a standard £30-£50 hairdryer. Echoing what many others are saying, you're not paying for quality as the YouTube teardowns will show you, it is 100% marketing.

I dont disagree with you as do think £300 is a crazy price (bit like paying £50 for a lighter when you can buy 5 for a £1 but people do). However the you tube teardowns do show that the dryer is quieter and does dry quicker.

some bad language in the you tube video - but actually a very good teardown.

I've just managed to find that video in my library and was about to post it... Btw, check out his other teardowns. Some of them are absolutely brilliant - "BOLTR: Hitachi MAGIC WAND modded to USB Power Bank" had me in tears.

How does it dry in half the time? More heat, more power??
Takes me forever to dry daughters hair, she has really thick hair and apparently high heat damages hair im lucky I have none!!
Cheers! Bought one of these for the dog. I'm sure I'll be rewarded in the afterlife :
