A little more info in the title would help this deal

From Tesco's (Blinkbox website)

* Buy The LEGO® Movie today and get 500 Clubcard points, and 50% off tickets to LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort.

* When you buy the movie, we’ll email you a unique voucher code and you can get up to 8 half-price tickets at LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort! T&C's apply.

So this is just for a download? Not very useful if your child (and their friends) want to go back and watch it a millions times over the next 5 years.

Ah, you beat me to it.

Very good deal this, great movie, and the points are worth at least £5, maybe double or quadruple that with club card boost.

+ Quidco for new customers and the £1 deposit for £5 credit iirc?

"You've just bought The Lego Movie
You own it forever and can watch whenever you like."

Thank you

has anyone done this

I suppose the clubcard points are useful but you get free entry tickets to Legoland on virtually every box of cereal going at the moment and by the middle of summer offers for all the Merlin attractions are printed everywhere. Also for the same price you can have a physical copy plus UV. Warm but not hot.

does anyone know how much the tickets actually cost with the code as there are so many offers at the moment trying to work out if this is any good

Used some of the free blinkbox credit I got before Christmas which means I get a film & £5 worth of Clubcard points for nothing. I knew the credit would come in handy eventually lol.

Did you do the Game of thrones one that gave 1000 clubcard points, and a free pizza?

I got mine before xmas last year, so could have changed - I got a booklet of special tesco offers, mainly a load of crap, like £10 of £50 spend at F&F and money off first online order, but also got 75% off the first 5 movie purchases at blinkbox.

Didn't have enough credit left for that unfortunately. Shame as it was a pretty good deal.

I clocked up about £50 worth so still have plenty left for these offers

Edited the title slightly.

I have just bought the Lego Movie (if you haven't seen it is awesome and a family film) on Blinkbox in this deal and it is valid on SD and HD versions and the movie is yours to keep forever and you can watch it on up to 5 devices.

You can Watch online or download it.

And for those wondering the points will be added to your November clubcard statement

Thanks for sharing OP

It's not "yours" at all. You can't watch it on any device you wish, you can't sell it on, you don't really own it. You just hold a lease and, when Blinkbox moves to a new platform in the future, it will stop working.

Downloads still require special activation, you can only plays these downloads on the aforementioned "up to 5 devices". If you lose that device, like a hard disk crash, new PC or whatever, that's one of your 5 gone. Once you've used up all 5, game over.

This isn't free to own download stuff, this is DRM ridden nastiness with lots of small print limitations.

It's happened before many times and will happen again when the Blinkbox system goes the inevitable way that these things do.

Many people already got stung on music purchases, now video is going down the same route.

720p, Stereo. No thanks.

don't forget TCB

Don't think I ever got my 1000 points from Game of Thrones

As others have said, you are basically buying the rights to watch it on up to 5 devices. You can change your devices, but only so many times in 6 months.

Not that great for the kids who just want to whack it into a DVD player anywhere they like and watch it over and over.

Don't see the point of "buying" movies online as you end up so restricted. For the same price you can buy the DVD and do whatever you like with it. Until they reduce the price of online stuff, it simply isn't worth it for me, the only benefit is it being instant.

Even renting a film online now has become more expensive than popping into a high street store.

No Worries, it seems they are out of date now (30.06.14) so may be best to use quickly if you actually want any films, before they notice!

Ta. That used up some of that free credit I got for texting something a while back.

Sounds like I'll get my points in August cool beans !

Original Poster

If you want a physical copy the best deal was with tesco direct with 150 bonus club card points with blinkbox version for £10 or blu ray for £13 with 200 club card points and 3d blu ray with 200 club card points for £20 all with blinkbox version. The pre order for those club card points has expired now. And can confirm the blinxbox version is available to watch from today but physical copy is for release on 21/7/14
