m$ gettng desparate, expect this to hit £200 by March

Desperate, how exactly? The Xbox One X did 80,000 units in its first week of sale. In comparison the PS4 Pro did 50,000.

The PlayStation 4 Pro hit the first week sales of the Xbox One X...eventually, although it took Sony 4 weeks. What exactly do you feel they are feeling desperate about?

The actual current worldwide offer is for PUBG free with the Xbox One X which I'm guessing is to boost sales of the highly underwhelming game performance of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. I don't think throwing Forza 7 in equates to 'desperate', do you?

I'm sorry, but £200 is just laughable. The Xbox One X is superior to the PlayStation Pro in many, many ways. And the only lacking issue is the amount of exclusives available on Microsoft's Xbox console.

That said, you keep holding on to the XBOX hitting the price of the Xbox One S by March, I'll be back here to check.

P.S, this isn't a good deal by any means. There's much, much better out there.

it’s simply overpriced for what it is at £450

I disagree. The PlayStation Pro launched at £349, and up until recently has barely budged from that, dropping only £50 to its lowest price point.

As mentioned earlier, the XBOX is a far inferior (read: superior) machine, but that alone doesn't justify its price tag. The thing has a 4K UHD player built in. I think a launch price of +£100 for this alone is more than justification of a machine that is even without, more powerful than its competition.

It’s the machine that the original Xbox one should have been at launch and people who bought an Xbox are reluctant to fire out another £450.Theres also the situation these days that if you have a gaming PC then you really don’t need an Xbox one as all the Xbox games come out on the PC anyway.

Speaking as an Xbox, PS4 and primarily PC user - that's ridiculous. The capabilities of the Xbox One X, when compared to the cost of a gaming PC with similar capabilities, are extremely reasonable indeed.

As for your suggestion that "its the machine that the original Xbox one should have been at launch" - i.e. that in November 2013, they should have released such a 4K ready console, nearly 3 years before the NVidia 10xx graphics cards came out for PC - well, that's just daydreaming nonsense.

Aren't they throwing in pubg with all x purchases? I thought I'd seen Larry tweet about it.

Surely you get both?
The Tesco deal is still better value imo. It;s also been this price and this offer for at least the past week, included in every other X deal from Microsoft.com lol

Not everyone is interested in a 4k Blu-ray player though . That wasn’t even a consideration for me or anyone I know who bought a One X so I could have done with the price being a £100 lower

Yes, but as I said, the internals are much more than they are without the 4K Blu-Ray player to justify its price tag. That is always an added bonus, and a must have for future proofing.

Although, I'm unsure why anybody would be interested in a 4K capable machine that didn't have 4K video capabilities, aren't you?

Let's not move onto the 4K Blu-Ray vs 4K steaming. That's another argument
I own a PS4pro, its a great console and is what the PS4 should have been at launch.
I also own a high end PC and now XBox is more of a service than a literal platform I have no need for an xbox scorpio.

but that said, IF you do not have a high end PC, and do have a 4k TV, then imo the scorpio is a great deal, UHD movie player and a pretty powerful console for the money and by far the most powerful console on the market.

Not all deals are for all people and this one is not for me, but it does not mean the xbox1x does not have some corking deals at the moment. Because Sony dont tend to release their games to PC the PS4 is the better buy for me, but that does not mean people should be arguing imo.

Huge miss step from MS dropping the scorpio being a VR console though. I cant for the life of me understand why they are not supporting their VR HMDs on the xbox1x.
I wish Sony had not skimped on the BR drive in the pro however.

I don't think dropping VR will prove to be a bad thing.

fair enough. For me once i went to VR some game genres i simply will not play again outside of VR. it is a far bigger jump in game experience than say, going from a ps2 game to a PS4 pro version of that game at 4k imo. To me the difference IS that big.
But the big thing for me is this. MS HAVE the hardware already...... the xbox essentially runs on windows so i cant believe it would be that big a deal to bring the drivers over to the xbox to run the HMD too.

then it is down to devs if they choose to support it or not..... and right now they are letting sony be the only console player in town to offer (semi) decent VR.

the MS VR is cheaper than PSVR (for the full package) and it is technically superior as well. seems a (relitively) easy win to me.

but to each their own.

You gonna post them then

I assume you're referring to the part I said it wasn't a good deal?

Xbox One X console - £387 [LINK]
XBox One X console with Doom, Fallout 4, Dishonored 2, Forza Motorsport 7 & Playerunknown's Battleground - £449.86 [LINK]
Xbox One X Console + Extra Controller, PUBG, Forza 7, Gears of War Ultimate - £469.99 [LINK]

Personally, on a like for like cost. The Shopto deal (£449.86 with 5 games) is the better option. The +1 game and +1 extra controller for +£20 certainly can't be sniffed at, and if you're looking for a solus console, is £387 not a bargain? It makes the cost of games in this deal £63!
