Many users have had a good experience however there is very little time between the date on the bill and sending in the claim so you need to be really organised. Check out the link in my signature for feedback for retailers and tips on cashback organisation.

I've never heard of these people so my guess is that you'll have roughly zero chance of getting the cashback. It's hard enough work from nationals like CPW etc

Hi all, Im going to order this phone but not sure now which company to order through who is the better for cashbacks etc The Mobile Outlet or BuyMobilePhones.net. I read the above comments and its put me off a bit now any advice please? Regards Jeremy

Flake99

Be careful ordering from this company. It's very sneaky but they don't put anywhere on their site that you only have 2 weeks from the dates on the relevant bills to get them into them for the cashback. Note, that's not 2 weeks from receiving them, but from when they are printed. Some mobile operators don't get bills out to you for up to 10 days after the date on them, so it really doesn't leave you much turnaround time. Remember there are 3 lots of cashback as well, so 3 times to make sure not to be away from home even for a couple of days around billing time. Plus, miss one and the lot are invalidated. Finally, buymobilephones.net have a bit of a touchy reputation. See this thread on MSE for some idea both positive and negative of people's experiences: ]http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=155535&highlight=buymobilephones.net

I'll admit, I must of been lucky to find out before ordering and seeing the voucher. But EVERYONE, should read the Terms and Conditions on cashback offers before ordering simple, if you see something amiss, contact them, it's not hard. Clearly BMP have decided to keep this information on vouchers only which is cheeky but something they would inform any customer about upon enquiry. Their contact us page is good and I usually have gotten replies within 48hours max. If you don't like the company, noone is forcing you to order from them...

Flake99

Agree totally. I have never had any problems - but should add I have only ever used cpw group or phones4u. Between me and extended family/ wifes family, must have done a couple of dozen contracts over the years and never not received a payment. It can be a bit stressful though. Before cashback, I remember taking advantage of Orange's pay upfront for a year deals. You could get those boxed and discounted for as little as £20 up front, all in. I think over the last year or 2, some of them have become so restrictive as to take it beyond being organised and efficient to make sure you get the cashback. I really am not comfortable at getting deals beacuse other consumers are being done over. I feel that some of these deals have become like that. I have met quite a few people who had no idea what they were letting themselves in for and when they don't provide the proper info on their website like in this case, then it's really out of order. Personally, I could never recommend a deal that needs 14 days, because of my experience with receiving Virgin bills so late. Also, and I mentioned this on another thread, because the harder deals tend to be with the best phones, they get noticed more on the mainpage. This means that deals like the recent phones4u ones, which I took up, disappear quickly from the board, and rarely get voted hot. If we are all agreed that adding in the cashback procedure in posts of mobile deals will be the norm - including a note that the time restriction runs from the date on the bill not when you receive it - , then that is great. That way someone new to these deals will easily be able to see the difference between deals and will know what is right for them and if they want to take the risk for the latest non clearance models.

Steveyorkie

I have been using full cashback phone deals for years, must be about five I think. I take out between 6 and 8 new contracts per year for Family etc. This Company seem to have the strictest time for getting your claims in, I suspect I'll have to use Special Delivery to get these in on time but I've got a free phone and free calls so £5 per claim for Special Delivery ain't too bad. I contacted them this morning about the T&C's for only one Cashback per household and apparently that will be changing. I told the Customer Services Lady that unless it's in writing I'll be cancelling the second order. No email from them, so after Lunch I'll phone back and cancel. TBH, if I had read their T&C's or I knew about the 14 Days (I know what your gonna say Schizo) I don't know if I'd have used them. I could get the same deal (near enough) from themobileoutlet but with longer to get the claims in:- ]http://www.themobileoutlet.co.uk/handset.asp?txtMode=3&txtHandset=381&txtNetwork=4

schizoboy

I think it should be added to any mobile deal if a cashback, there should be a box with all the cashback details. They post them because if you find out and abide by all the cashback terms you save hundreds, me and my family have done so without problems. To repeat, cashback contracts are designed to be tricky, they really DO NOT want to hand out the cashback claims they advertise so put in legal obstacles, it'll be interesting to see where this trend goes however. Your virgin contract date gap sounds horrible though. In that case if close/on/late in sending in the claim i;d give a covering letter saying Virgin can take 2-3 weeks to deliver this post, and just kindly mentioning if they don't honour the claim by the deadline mentioned in T&C's you will consider legal options. Hard, annoying, unreasonable terms admitedly if post takes that long to get to you. Before I took out my two BMP contracts I am 100% certain I found out the 14day limit before ordering on HUKD, it was ages ago though. It should be clearly stated on the BMP feedback thread though along with the example of your slow posting gap leaving you little window of opportunity. For most organised people who are strict and disciplined cashbacks are not a problem, for those that screw up, possibly unfairly... they are subcidising the rest of us unfortunately...

Flake99

Just looked through duckmagic's info threads. There is no mention there either of the 14 days. Basically, anyone taking up these deals on the basis of the recommendation of posters with great feedback on this site are in for a nasty little shock when (maybe that should be 'if') they receive the vouchers. I am sorry, I really don't understand why you guys keep posting these deals. I am presuming you don't get anything out of it personally, so why do it? They are clearly way too restrictive and without posting the details of the cashback procedure, which isn't even available from the company's site, you are making it worse. If you must post the 'deals', then I say the details of the cashback procedure need to be in the post itself. If all you are interested in is helping people find a good deal (presumably the point of this site) then surely there would be no problem with this. Incidentally, I wish people shouldn't be referring to 14 days from when you get the bill. It is 14 days from the date on it. For an example, I just got a Virgin bill dated 8 Feb. It came through the door on the 17th February! There then was the weekend, leaving me 2 days within which to get it to them had it been with this retailer. Had I been away for work for a few days - well that would be it for this and all all future claims as well. Seriously, why post these?

Gaz

On reading up about this, this appears to be a sh*t phone.

Cuddy

They will still bill you or eventually request you send them the phone back... and if you don't do that then I'm sure the will get debt recovery services involved. The only way to get this phone for free is to pay £35 per month for £12 months (= £420) and then through their cashback scheme (which of course requires you to have sent in appropriate statements that show you've paid the line rental) then they will pay you back £420 in 3 lumps of £140 :)

philflak

well I don't plan to use the sim card they send at all! I guess that means the bill would be completely empty! Thanks

Nice deal resulting in £20 profit with quidco They are a reliable cashback company with a decade of experience selling mobiles. But they have strict cashback conditions. On 12months I believe it is claims @ 4months, 8months and 12months 1st claim must be made in time and correctly or your, if not your FORFEIT all your claims and thus losing hudreds of pounds and generally its voucher + 4bills to be sent every 4months. I have to say I would never go for this. All you need to do is go on holiday, or have a problem with the bill arriving... or simply forget for a few days. No way would I want to risk it. But thanks ;O)

Steveyorkie

Have you finished having a go at me for commenting? I made a valid post based on the evidence supplied and voted as I saw fit. Deal with it and get over it.

schizoboy

So no comments doesn't make this good? Not imo. Feel free to flame all of these too btw: https://www.hotukdeals.com/?merchant_filter=304&order_by=Newest

Steveyorkie

If it was such a 'hot' deal how come I'm the only one to comment? If other posters agreed with you, they would say so by commenting or voting 'hot'.

schizoboy

But you lent weight to that trend :P I'll agree that condition is harsh, and most don't have that, but I'm pretty certain BMP is not the only retailer to do that, people can google for themselves to see, not my job to do so. I deal with 2 contracts with BMP personally and was able to get the 1st claim in, so don't get what the big deal is, if people plan their cashbacks it's not a problem. People who forget are screwed admitedly, but then they're incompetence is subsidising their good offers.

I strongly doubt that you would get the wii before Christmas. As schizoboy points out these free gift deals usually bank on the got to have it now nature of people rather than the savvy buyers.

schizoboy

even ducks post days ago clearly states it won't arrive b4 xmas, possibly early last week if they could do it in time, but not now. If people want the wii badly enough possibly, but I'll back value for money over hype generated desire anyday.

l6cum

your right about 'the value' of the deal it doesnt compare favourably with the cashback deals, but after reading several posts about wii stocks and selling out quickly a few poeple still want this before christmas just like my kids did so this way i have got a pretty decent contract 500 mins and 500 text for £35 pm on a standardish phone (the pebl, thats what the mrs wanted) and a wii for the kids! so my family are happy and so am i as it didt cost me an arm and a leg for the wii!!! thanks

schizoboy

I was on a mobileshop 12month free contract from 2005-2006, 3 times mobileshop offered me about 60% of the claims left tota to buy me out the rest of the claims They are betting people are too lazy/forgetful to do all the claims. Sorry but £480 vs £230 of gaming isn't comparable, but I will put my hands up I am quite biased as I run several cashback contracts so am accustomed to them. Even if people want a wii and a good value mobile contract, I'd still recommend to buy the wii seperately and getting a high end phone as there is far more market competition in high end phones than there is in gifts making the high end phone better value for money.

emmajk42

I agree, but this kind of offer must appeal to some people, or they wouldn't do them :)

Didn't see the option to get it before Christmas. still a bad deal, but if people are desperate for one before christmas it does seem to be the only way, and at least you get the phone and calls for a year. From that point of view (just to get a wii before christmas) it isn't quite so bad. Still £400 for a Wii though.

kevann

Look stop talking about all this 28 day wait for the wii. This post is Great for the peeps desperate for the Wii and need it before xmass. Forget about the 28 days wait and pay them £180 upfont deposit for your free gift and get it delivered in time for the kids for xmass. (You can claim the £180 deposit back after 28 days ) I do wish some peeps would take the time to check availability and terms before they start knocking this offer. Think it`s about the only chance any1 desperate for the Wii before xmass will get as most if not all other online store`s are out of stock. Iam gonna rate it hot ,it deserves it . :santa:

elliff

It depends on the retailer. There are quite a few cowboys out there. It really does pay to do your research and see what other people have to say, whether they have recieved what was promised and how much hassle was involved. Personally I have used www.dialaphone.co.uk a lot and always found them fantastic, got a deal with a free 360 a few months ago and recieved it in a few weeks. Don't just order because it is a good deal, do some research and make sure you will get what is promised.

schizoboy

28days is the limit for most doing gifts, just they represent a massive rip off. All credit to duck, but this offer is basically asking £400 for a Nintendo Wii Far better to get a 12month free line rental contract SEPERATELY (value of phone and quidco makes most 12month free rental contracts £50 profit minimum) and spending £180 at the start of January, put quidco and sale of mobile towards the wii you could get it for £100-£130 :)

clarky666

To be honest i'd steer clear of any 3rd party mobile phone vendor. A lot of them were offering PSP's a few months ago and my friend is still waiting for his.

Thanks for this schizoboy :) I agree with you about stock levels not being accurate on every website you visit, especially the ones that have a larger customer base. I have no experience with BuyMobilePhones, but the feedback I've seen appears to be mostly positive. I like the idea of 3 cashbacks and no paper cheques...

schizoboy

ser03 did you mean pac code? your english is quite poor Pac codes last for 28days and since tmobile does not require it upon sign up (ie you can call them once you have the phone and sim) Why get it so early? You're not oblidged to use it asap, if you don't use it your old contract or payg tariff will continue so do not see what the big deal is as you can just request another one. As for the company being rude, get used to it, i've been treated by far worse by many others, general rule of thumb being if anything seems abnormal, chase it up, and it gets sorted. If you want premium service where everything is in stock and you get treated better, try possibly a high street store, you'll be royally ripped off, but they'll have the VIP service you seem to naively expect at bottom down prices. As for your badly implied comment that I might be biased, I simply had good service from them, and you're letting a small thing like stock levels put you out which is very narrowminded not to mention extremely rude of you to say.

schizoboy

I've used the internet for over a decade, and companies have done and will never have 100% accurate stock levels, so their website hasn't caught up with their real levels, you were notified and have the choice of staying with them or going elsewhere, many companies would do the same in the same situation. I don't get the problem.

ser03

:-D:-D:-DHey I can see unusual interest from you to stand up for them just been a simple customer probably there is something more than that. Come back to the point. Simcard? No, phone number what is matter if they don't put contract through puck will expired and to obtain a new one on contract i'll have to pay 1month line rental to existed provider. I need to keep the number!!!!!!!! Stock What do you mean "they have done nothing wrong" for 5 days phone in stock on line and i think probably will always be there no matter what. Inconsistency this not the case very impaired integrity I would say or misleading information. Regarding other retailer we can't be 100% sure and claim like this very suspicious. Anyway I'll better go to somewhere else to much hassle e.g.call than wait and despite the fact they big turnover Co the same girl alway answer the phone also pure comunication no e-mail confirmation of order and the phone is out of stock.

Just checked and here's the specific info: ]http://freebb.orange.co.uk/offerinfo/default.htm

You only get orange broadband free if you are on an 18 month contract as far as I know.

neelpeel

Can someone tell me...since this is an Orange contract of £30 per month, does that mean that you can get the free Orange broadband deal with this? If so then how do I go about it? do i get the contract first and claim the 'free' broadband later??

If you go for a cashback offer then you have to contact Orange to get the broadband. They then re-start your acontracts. This means that your cashback is likely to be rendered invalid.

welshman

i agree no such thing as a free lunch lol

davedixson

I just phoned orange - thay said that if you phone them within a few days of the contract starting they wont need to start a new contract. However, ads good as this bargain is, there seem to be just toop many things that can go wrong... 1.the mobile phone vender could go bust 2.orange could withdraw the broadband offer before you get chance to sign up to the free broadband. 3.you may be forced to sign up to a new contract, allowing the vender to not give you the cash back (the person I spoke to didnt seem to know what they were talking about to be honest) 4.orange could deny you the free broad band as you have already had a special offer with the cashback I know that each of these possibilites is unlikely, £30 a month for 18 months is a lot to gamble. I think Ill leave it a while and see how someone else gets on first - sounds too good to be true so it probably is! Dave.

m1chaels

The T&C on orange talk about them replacing your existing contract with a new one - has anyone had confirmation that this won't invalidate cashbac?

grumpycrab

It's more of an experiment really. I don't use a mobile much but I have to have one. It has to have good reception, good call quality and be reliable. Don't care about the other "waste of time" features. As far as broadband is concerned this is the bigger risk. I currently used about 5Gig a month. The Orange (Wanadoo) cap for the free package is 2Gig. Apparently this is flexible. We'll see. The worst that that will happen (apart from it not working at all) is I'll be asked to upgrade to their unlimited package which is £10 per month. This will still result in a reduction of my overall spend by 50% -- Ian

Thanks, I think I'll still have to get the best tariff for me and sort out handset separately. Which online stores would you say are the best for prompt and reliable cashback claims?

duckmagicuk2

I'm afraid I haven't seen any deals as good as this one. [thread=19726]>>THIS TOPIC

willdashwood

I've been after a 12 month free deal on the VS6 and this looks promising as I wanted it on o2. What's the reputation of BuyMobilePhones like? I was going to just stick to mobileshop.com, get a different handset, sell it and buy a VS6 but it would be a whole lot easier to get this. Shame it doesn't come with more texts. Have you come across any other VS6 deals Mr DuckMagic, lord of the mobile deals? :-D

animal

Nice Handset, But a warning if anyone is thinking of using the bluetooth with a car kit. With my Nokia car kit once you had paired the phone with the kit outgoing calls worked fine, however for incoming calls the handset would take the call as normal and once you had answered the call one of the softkeys gave the option of transfering the call to bluetooth, not exactly handsfree! So eBay has the VS6 and I have yet another new phone (sorry Mrs Animal)

duckmagicuk2

Yeah, and you have to go through the hassle of cacelling it if you only want the trial. Hehe.
