Anyone received the cashback yet?

kg1986

I had a further email today asking me to reconfirm my address for the previous 3 years. Considering this was on the original order. I don't know what to believe now. Still, hopefully this will be sorted before Christmas (annoyed)

Jessica_Dickens

Update: i called them yesterday and they hung up after 1 hour on the phone. Called again today and finally got though. Guy on the phone very nice and said he will re process my order and i just checked order status and it says this: "Thank you so much for choosing to buy one of our Black Friday offers. We really do appreciate it. We have received your request to re-process your Vodafone application. Please accept our apologies once again for your order having originally being rejected in error. The huge volume of orders we have received has presented us with an unprecedented challenge in order processing, which has meant that the same-day turnaround, next-day delivery service that we pride ourselves on is not currently possible as we work through the backlog of orders."

Jessica_Dickens

Did anyone who ordered this phone actually get it?? I ordered and receieved an email saying that i had failed the credit check even though my credit history is good. I called vodafone as i already have a line with them and they said that there is no reason why i couldnt open a new contract This has happened to lots of people and its because they can't cope with the amount of orders and have run out of stock :S

CTAHOK

Do not cancel it. I have done it then both orders via AFM & MPD are cancelled referring security or credit check.

Turns out what I got was slightly different from what was posted here so have made a separate post to make it easier: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/oneplus-6t-8gb-ram-midnight-or-mirror-black-80gb-data-36pm-before-cashback-2650pm-after-636-after-cashback-606-with-quidco-3115296

Marotta118

I just got this with the red entertainment pack for £636 after cashback (potential £30 quidco also but wont hold my breath!) Absolute steal seeing as was after getting spotify premium anyway and phone is £529 itself! Serious thanks for the post, glad I waited til today to bite! One question though - how does the warranty/guarantee for the phone work? i assume Oneplus will stay away from it as it wasnt bought direct?

Simon_Leventhal

Good info - thanks! There are good reviews on Trustpilot for the company. So looks like they are reliable.

rubel101

I believe this is because that's the 8gb variant. The 6gb variant is available for next day delivery. This actually might be a better deal https://www.buymobiles.net/contract/oneplus-6t-6gb-ram-128gb-mirror-black/vodafone-red-entertainment-32gb-73-24mths-24?adnetwork=awin& reputation wise no idea.

Is Buymobiles a reputable company? Seems quite a long wait time for the phone delivery - 2-3 weeks

You might wanna have a look on Three’s actual site and not a third party one. There was also two threads on here that told us Three has removed the tethering limit. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/three-removes-tethering-cap-from-4g-mobile-plans-3069261https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/three-network-removes-tethering-cap-3105018

You’ll be glad to hear that’sno longer the case. If you have unlimited data then you’ll have unlimited tethering.

Was thinking about canceling my WiFi and using this but it's tethering is 30GB cap unfortunately.

Did see that, and very tempting! I think it may still work out cheaper for me to buy SIM free though with a decent BF deal. Particularly as I don't need the unlimited data aspect. Great posts though!

Haha, I think my number of connected WiFi devices may be a bit extreme too, I might count them and report back for fun :D Yeah, it's an Osmo but the first generation one, I paid around £250 for it a few weeks before the 2nd gen was announced, so not my most savvy purchase unfortunately. I'd never had a drone, but took advantage of an offer here just recently, the Muvi Q1 at just £94.50. Was very impressed for the money so bought a second one for spares too. I know it's not the best available but I don't think I'll use one very much so couldn't justify going too crazy on this occasion.

Biggunspaul

Yeah I’m the same with any tech, love it and always got to buy the latest and greatest, preferably on launch dayPut it this way, i rang Sky the other day about my internet and the woman said let’s have a look at how much data you are using and how many devices you have connected, you could almost hear her chin hit the floor when she seen what the figures were lolOooh is that a gimbal i see in the shadows ? I’ve got the osmo mobile 2 myself, and it was rude not to get a Mavic Air to go with it lol

ezzer72

I’d probably give it a couple of months before boasting about a new Samsung Note having a massive battery if I was you...My P20 Pro has a 4000mah too, battery life is epic.

Yes apple update your phone 2 or 3 years down the line to make your 2 or 3 year old phone slow, so you have to go and buy a new one lol.

Seems to depend on who you get with EE, I had a similar negative experience last year... sometimes you get someone who's really not in the mood to get you a deal and will get a bit hard nosed about it and call your bluff about leaving etc, other times perhaps when they need to meet a retention target they'll "have a chat with the supervisor" (aka. mute the phone for a minute to make it look like they're doing something special just for you ;)) Liking this phone a lot and don't mind most of the Samsung "bloat", though I still ended up preferring the new Google Fit and uninstalling S Health, getting rid of the Bixby screen etc. As with others in the thread I don't like the trend towards that new tall form factor, it's annoying that apps always come up with that "full screen" option and often have bits cut off slightly at the edge of the screen if you use it etc. And the battery life is absolutely pants so I ended up getting a charging pad for my desk at work so it could make it through the day. But otherwise it's good and certainly worth the money at this deal price.

Wotan

Yes, it's horses for courses really - 6" in 16:9 gives a far larger phone than 6" on a 18:9, so it's a bit of a trade off. I was a little undecided before I jumped in with the Huawei P-Smart, but it turns out the phone is so slim and light that it's incredibly easy to hold in landscape with one hand. I prefer it now, but it does make everything feel squashed when you use it upright, and will depend on each specific phone.

Dragon32

I have the 18:9 ratio on my S8 Plus and 50/50 about it as most videos as 16:9 (apart from cinema format). Also it sometimes sticks out your pocket slightly more being longer. The screen on my wifes Pixel 2 XL actually looks bigger being the old format (even though I believe they are around the same size)? Like I say I'm 50/50 and not too bothered about it as love everything else about the phone.

Good luck finding that deal.

So most of the plus goes into height I guess. I just get that. It's not ideal for reading, and I don't think the s9 suits normal photo or video aspect ratios. Guess I'm just old fashioned.

I'm with 3 UK for another 6 months. Could I take up this offer, use the phone with the 3 UK sim, and then once my 3 contract ends, transfer the 3 UK number to my EE contract? Basically I want to keep my number. Is there a time limit on when you port your number over?

pixelat0r

Haven't done it yet but will grab a Giffgaff or Three sim and port over then back again.

erniesone

I have had a large number of mobiles, most recently the Oneplus 5T, and I have to say I like the P20 Pro best. I must admit I import my own wallpaper and use the Nova Launcher - which allows you to change just about everything about the screen setup. However, I use boring backgrounds for the App Drawers so I will let the experts comment on that.

iWantACheesePizza

To the people that own this phone.. what are the aesthetics like? All the pictures I’ve seen sport a very boring black background (the app pages) FYI, I’m making the jump from iOS to droid. Or should I be looking at a diff phone?

Having owned the S9 plus and the P20 pro I feel I'm in a position to make a judgement. I've also learnt not to trust dxo scores as they don't reflect real world use. The fact is, having taken hundreds of pictures with both these phones, the S9 plus produces consistently better results. In auto mode in the real world taking pictures of day to day stuff (kids, pets etc) you are far more likely to get a decent picture with the S9 plus. The Huawei isn't bad, particularly in pro mode but it's not a patch on the S9 in auto mode which is what I use the majority of the time. The Huawei is also very potions to producing strange artifacts as a result of post processing and colours can often look very unnatural.

mjunaid106

You link takes me to the current deal? (skeptical)

dannycouzens7

The thing is too much is wasted on bench marks etc if you want to win benchmarks go for the iPhone x. But everyday usability is not defined by a bench mark test. Imo I think the s9 plus is the better phone but my wife would disagree living with both phones I can tell you there is hardly any if no difference between them

Robert_Byrne

I almost went for this deal but found a better one when I went to get it. Its got double the data and 24 month BT instead of 3 for the same price DEAL

I spent a bit of time in Belgium recently and while all their operators were available and "showing all bars" (I know it's worthless, but I didn't have my app to measure real dB level), I struggled to get stable 3g/4g data connection, and at most it felt like 128 kbps. ...nb, I'm also Three customer for the last, like, five years, and I'm just leaving them, because, frankly, coverage in London and north of it is really spotty.

ChambyR33

Ive never had a problem with signal or internet speeds when ive been abroad since feel at home was launched Strangly enough i seemed to get better signal in the canary islands than i get in the UK (lol)

AndyRoyd

Three state its AYCE data is limited to about 1TB (1000GB) per month and that it is a physical limitation of the technology; not an enforced limitation by the carrier. The most monthly data I have seen thethered on a Three AYCE data plan was just under 0.5TB (500GB) and would likely have been higher had Three not been implementing an agressive 3pm-midnight daily throttling regime at the time. The current KFI dated Feb 2018 suggests the throttling is more relaxed and only applies to certain tethering+FAH and certainly not vigorously applied during fixed periods. KFI at time of this post is dated 13 Feb 2018 and can be viewed via URL below. Consider Three may update this KFI at any time http://support.three.co.uk/mobiledocs/Support/Signal_and_coverage/our_network/TrafficSense_facts_document.pdf

Andy4Shurr

Thanks OP, just ordered. I was with 3 until recently when I saw the Virgin Mobile deal so I went with that but mast congestion was crippling my network speeds. Literally 1-3mbps during the day, so I've cancelled within the cooling off period. Back to 3 I go, but cheaper than before.

Well if that is your opinion of the phones design I would not trust you in any meaningful judgement of anything.I was never told that Samsung design is the best, I made up my own mind about the S8 after I had had it for a few weeks and kept saying to myself every-time I looked at it that it was beautiful. Never sais or done that about any other phone and I previously had an S7. It may be the screen saver though that really looks good and does the job perfectly.

finbaar

But of course I am trolling by offering my opinion on the phones design. Is it better looking than the S8? Well of course beauty is the eye of the beholder and some prefer brutalist design over classical, modern or whatever - so it is a matter opinion. Though I never said it was better than Samsung's design or that Samsung's design was bad. You can't argue that this device is different and quite a lot of other phones are aping the glass and metal that Samsung are doing. Like quite a lot of people on the spectrum you can only see things in black and white, right and wrong, good and bad. You have been told that the Samsung design is the best therefore any other opinion MUST be wrong. It is difficult for people like you to put yourself in other peoples shoes and understand that other opinions are equally valid.

soldierboy001

You call that a refreshing change from the good looking S8, you must be joking. how can square cut edges all around be called a refreshing change. Oh I get it you are a TROLL looking for an argument. He He He very funny. LOL.

finbaar

Picked the same deal up from Affordable Mobiles as they were doing £40 Quidco (Tracked for me). The device is a refreshing change from the sleek metal and glass sandwiches that Samsung are pushing out. I use this as a second phone and it works well for media consumption. The only downside is that these versions run the Three firmware, they are not locked though. Three do delay the firmware updates a bit. 8.1 has just been released to OTA but I would not expect to see it for a couple of weeks on mine (I have given up debranding it due to driver issues).

This seems like an ok deal on EE if you want 15GB data and the EE coverage along with the BT sports access.
Hunkerdown

Seems like a decent deal as this price normally gets you only 10gb with EE. Heat added.

flamingmoose

For existing customers as well. I've been offered this deal and I'm mid way through a sim only deal. Worth trying to get through to retentions and quote the buy mobiles offer. Funnily enough they will budge and offer 37.99. I've been trying to get my loyalty discount of £7 applied but to no avail as of yet.

stormy78

It looks like new customers only. If you wanted to move your number over you would have to leave EE, port your number to a PAYG sim with say ASDA and then move back to EE on the new contract moving your number from ASADA back to EE. It is a pain but only takes about a week to do.

shady

Is this for new customers only, or upgrades ? I am on EE currently, and due to be able to upgrade at the end of this month. Particularly attracted as this is also EE Max, so roaming in the US and Mexico also, so would be all over this if available then.

stormy78

Not on EE though is it? So not really comparable due to network coverage and speeds.
