I found this as I was looking to take the pee out of my mother in law (who in her mid 50s is more interested in an S7 than this), but it does strike me, you can get an ok calls only sim card for a few quid a month versus what - £16 a month line rental from BT

Amazon 'deal' but even at regular price, you wouldn't have to have it for too long before the savings surpass the purchase price.

Wireless Quadband GSM Desk Phone: Mixing the affordable pricing deals of a mobile phone SIM card with the convenience of the original desk phone. An easy way for elderly to keep in contact with their family as well as for families and businessmen to save on costs.

Anyone know if there is a belt pouch available for this?
Good find.

Wow pretty cheap and could be useful, I didn't even know these things were available for such a low price. Shame it isn't 3G which rules out the Three '3-2-1' pay as you go service.

Answer: Yes I have used the following sims in this handset 3 BTmobile EE it will do a search when setting up and offer you

Reviews suggest it doesn't as it's a 2G only phone as does the specifications given...maybe there are variations on models but other reviews say it's 2g only and not Three compatible. There are a few places in the UK where Three do have a 2G roaming agreement so it's possible someone has tested it on that basis.

There's a very good chance it will work with a Three sim. However, in a few months down the line you might get a message from Three telling you to use a 3g handset.
