Instructor : John Purcell
This has been free for a long time.
A good quality C++ introduction course I can personally vouch for (unlike some of the poor quality ones posted earlier). John has a calming and soothing voice, you can use it as an asmr audio.

his youtube channel has more stuff (on java, nodejs/javascript)

I saw an ‘Enrol now’ beside Free. Enrolled.

Thank you.
Many places will try and learn you but finding the right course is the key.

Thanks for this, don't think I'll use it but a far better deal than trawling through 100's of free courses to find a good one.

I understand you are more into java. He has a youtube channel where he posts java stuff, you may like them.

I try and learn by the just in time method. I'll only learn something when I need it.

Atm I'm working on 2 apps, one which uses AR and one with Tensorflow which is Googles Machine Learning. The AR app is on hold atm, nothing I'm really stuck on, I just got distracted by something I learned in ML. I'm trying to train an image recognition app to count money. I've actually made some headway and trained the model to count pound coins, as you can see it's recognising them but also 20p's so I'll have to train more images for it to work properly (first model was trained on about 100 images, think I'll need around 1,000 under different conditions).

What I'm now stuck on is converting the model to .tflite which is what Android needs. The boilerplate code is already on Android so if I can get my model to work then I'll just have to tweak the code. You'll then point your phone at the money and the app will tally everything up. I've a few ideas in this field including what I think is a killer app. ML is pretty new to mobiles so if I can get in early I may make that killer app.

My other app is a location based treasure hunt. I've created a few AR models and have linked them to location so when you enter an area, it triggers the AR (Android handles location and AR very well). It's nowhere near finished nor am I in a hurry to complete it. It's just something that interests me.

very cool, especially the image classification app, did not know tensorflow is available on mobile. best of luck. I am very envious of your progress.

I attended a meetup this time last year without ever know what ML was but as soon as I seen it I thought of ideas.

It's been a long process because I'm not that strong on Python. There's a lot of training and code to help train images which helped but I also struggled with. I've dipped in and out over the months until recently I was able to train my own images, which is why I'm sidetracked.

I'm stuck converting which should just be 3 lines of code but require values which I don't understand. I'll get through it eventually because I always do. I might take a break and come back to things and work on the AR again but I'll solve it eventually. When I get the .tflite file (in the right format I should add which could be another problem) I'll be able to use it in Android and tweak the code that's already there.

In fairness although I began ML as a total noob, I'm just a more knowledgeable noob regards it. It's a complete field in itself. I just see the possibilities with it for a mobile device and there's very few Android apps that use it atm.
Is C++ very powerful, yes
But
Do I ever want to go back to C++ after learning java/python, ..hmm.. no
