Nice!

Realistic price. Good god why would any sane person fork out £3.50 for a mass produced sponge cake?! oO

# Time for cake and

This is better than any of the birthday cakes they sell!

This cake is really nice. The price of £3.50 is high, but i do end up paying it because it tastes so good. Will defo b buying one today.

sounds like heaven. I will have a look tomorrow

Can't imagine anything I'd like to eat less. Mass-produced, devoid of flavour, full of crap. Good price though.

Surprised any British person buys any Cadbury item considering how much unemployment they caused in the name of corporate greed.

I have been told that many of their new varieties of chocolate bars in gaudy packaging are disgusting and not worth buying but I will never get the chance to try them as Cadbury are one of the many foreign owned companies that are now ripping this country off are on my black list.

Unfortunatly it is very hard to find anything BRITISH these days because our inept self centered politicians are more interested in foreigners and foreign companies than ANYTHING British .

my favourite cake! Really nice and hardly ever on offer well found OP!

Not online really wanted to add it to my grocery shop. Still voted hot.

A lot of people don't actually give a s*** to be honest, including me. Its a chocolate cake, not bothered about any politics behind it.

It's a new spin on the more traditional "Better than half price" : "Almost half price".

If a foreign comany like Kraft comes in and takes over Cadbury it's not their fault - they maybe didn't even have the chance to refuse! It's like a foreigner coming and offering you double the value of your house and you refusing saying I want to keep it in British hands. Again that's because you have a choice over your house - this is a company.

Blame Kraft (_;)

Oh yeah maybe he was

Anyway goes around in circles, British companies (e.g. East India Co) used to take over countries - forget companies. And they didn't just take jobs... (_;)

Wise words ... any thoughts on the middle east crisis?

Long political rants made about something tangentially related to the deal usually indicates the deal itself is a decent one.

Some people do. And for those only wanting to buy British manufactured food you can be pleased to hear that this is made in sunny Cornwall.

I know because I make them.

Look, we all know that....

Never seen these before. Might pop into tesco later and give it a try!

Am I missing the point here, surely this site exists to promote offers and deals, not to provide a sounding board. Just stick to if a GOOD or BAD deal and forget the crap!, some people should just get a life

Complete and utter rubbish. How on Earth does Cadburys being owned by Kraft benefit politicians in the slightest? It doesn't benefit them in the eyes of people like me as I couldn't care either way, and it makes nationalists like you hate them even more. Though from your attitude I'd assume you'd still hate a politician who was literally some sort of national hero just because they are a politician. Funny how people like you are so happy to rant about how awful they are yet, despite claiming a love of Britain, refuse to actually do anything to fix the issue. Which elections have you contested?

I can also only assume that you refuse to shop in Tesco etc. for the audacity of having foreign subsidiaries? Or is it fine for British companies to operate abroad and no-one else?

And if people continuing to buy Cadbury's despite it being foreign owned surprises you, you really don't know British people at all. We are not a nationalist country (thank God).

What ridiculous reasoning. How exactly could something "devoid of flavour and full of crap" possibly be a good price at £1.75? Or are you just making a snobbish assumption that because it's mass produced it can't possibly taste good? I don't doubt for a second that a homemade version would taste a bit better, but mass-produced food can still be incredibly nice...

Why do I not see these deals BEFORE I go into the damn store >.>

Tfw I don't live near a Tescos but was in one earlier on the way to work (_;)

How can a cake cause so much turmoil !?!?!?!?!

A thinly disguised xenophobic troll with no facts to back up the anger. It's true that capitalism is inherently cold because numbers can't understand humans, and I'm going to humour you despite there being at least a 50% chance that you're just a horribly stressed out troll.
You want something to genuinely get upset about I have a long list of real world issues but how about all this:

Political parties are mostly funded by very wealthy individuals. They try to make sure that taxes, regulations and policies stay beneficial to them and/or their companies. This is also helped by the mainstream press owned by large companies/wealthy people who always tell stories about how government is useless and taxes, therefore, are also useless. This of course is what wealthy people want you to think as it's most beneficial to them financially and they are all ego driven psychopaths.
Well not all of them are, Bill Gates is far too nice and nerdy.
This is the complete opposite of the truth! Here's just one small example:
http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2013/09/we-can-reduce-poverty-if-we-want-we-just-have-want
Governments, effective tax collection and regulation usually improve the quality of life and standard of living for everybody, and especially people trapped in poverty.
Want more?

Investment banks use high frequency trading on the main stock exchanges to skim pennies off every exchange transaction by being faster than the majority of traders by tiny fractions of time. This legitimately takes billions every year from any exchange and any pension or savings invested in it. It's just another way the richest can make money whilst not worrying about anybody else.

Russia is funding and supporting a war against Ukraine (almost the poorest European country) seemingly so Putin has free parking for his destroyers! It would almost be funny if it wasn't all so terrible.

1% of the richest in the USA (and it's similar in many lower tax, lower regulation developed countries) have 90% of the wealth thanks to low taxes, tax 'avoidance' schemes and compound interest.
There are legitimate things to want to change or be concerned about, but you don't have to get angry, racist or weird about it.

Remember Gandhi? He got the whole of the British empire to give up one of it's largest and most profitable territories. He did this not with hate and not with violence. He did this by letting himself and other Indians suffer to effect a peaceful and gradual political pressure. A change born out of empathy and respect for India and her people.
Remember:
Good things happen slowly, bad things happen quickly.

By the way Cadburys chocolate tastes the same as it always has, they've just tried to combine it with other Kraft products to make it more interesting and profitable.

It's a good price for a Cadburys cake.

These things don't taste nice - let's just leave it at that. Plus, you can recreate the experience with a dry sponge and packet of Splenda.
