Any, gets you out of Slough. :)
Lol, so he is. Maybe some Welsh people in England, dont see many though. Some Davids, I think. :)
How is David Brent. Seen him much? Xx
Heat Reindeer333, but your deal picture is of Caldicot Castle which is not on the list (nerd)
As others have said, St Fagans is just outside of Cardiff and well worth a visit. Pretty busy at weekends though. Free to enter but there is a car parking charge (I think it's £5). https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g186460-d187984-Reviews-St_Fagans_National_Museum_of_History-Cardiff_South_Wales_Wales.html Cardiff Castle is in right in city centre but there is a charge. Tours (including house) are worth doing in my opinion, costs here: https://www.cardiffcastle.com/tickets-and-prices-1/ For something more leisurely, take a trail around Bute Park, close to the university/city centre: http://bute-park.com/main-attractions/sculpture-trail/ Cardiff itself is a great night out though and well worth exploring if you are thinking of going to Uni there. You've picked a time when there's no rugby match on, so it won't be too busy either. Croeso I Cymru!
thanks for this! heat
Very cool, thanks for sharing!
Is there anything near Cardiff that is worth going to ? Might go for the open evening at Cardiff Uni in September around the 14th so might as well spend the wkend there and explore.
Cardiff castle is NOT run by CADW. Here is a complete list from Wikipedia. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Cadw_properties
It's not listed on the page... In fact there's no mention of Cardiff on the page whatsoever!
Is it a CADW site (whatever that is)?
Title should be "Free entry to SOME CADW sites in wales on St. Davids day, 1st March" not all
Nice work mate, thanks.
Hope this link works https://www.google.co.uk/maps/search/CADW+properties+in+Walesfirstname.lastname@example.org,-4.8630477,8z/data=!3m1!4b1 I've also added a screenshot
Shame there's no map view. Can't be bothered to cut and paste every property name into Google.
S Sssh, don't tell everyone. The amount of money I've saved over the last few years with CSSC has been considerable.
Thanks. Will be a nice day out
Wales here I come. Thanks op!
Thanks op, heat added. :)
Only wished that I lived nearer to Wales :(
Yes Parking There Isn't Free At St. Fagans . :(
Well £5 parking. But, yes, free to enter.
Duffryn Gardens is now managed by the National Trust, not CADW!
& it's rained all day
I thought Wales was a historic site!
Good deal. Only drawback is that you have to go to Wales. :p (ducks and retreats quickly)

Thanks for that - visiting next week and not using an Explore North/Mid Wales Flexi Rover ticket this time (it comes with its own set of discount vouchers to pre-print): http://www.railrover.org/pages/explore-north-and-mid-wales-flexi-rover.html FYI: Many attactions in Devon/Cornwall and Norfolk are also public transport friendly - show that day's train and/or bus ticket to get SOME discount at quite a few attractions there too. ie General principle that worth checking when you arrive at a venue - worst they can say is "no offer, sorry", best is "oh yes, £ off". There are also many 2 for 1 that require you to take a coupon with you - as does the 2for1 at Shrewsbury Castle. The London ones you can source at: http://www.daysoutguide.co.uk/2for1-london
Thanks for the info :) Think the link is fixed now too.
Oooooooops! Sorry! :whistling:
Thanks suze, my sister's just moved to Wales so I'll let her know. I couldn't get the link to work either, seems it's all down to missing the "www" Here's a link to the story: ]http://www.cadw.wales.gov.uk/default.asp?id=21〈=en&NewsId=160 And here's the main link fixed : ]http://www.cadw.wales.gov.uk/
