Seems like a good value bike. It's marked as on sale, not sure how long it has been this price. Other calibre bikes have good reviews on bike radar.
I'm no bike expert so can't pick out any of the better features, but the specs are below.

Was that Giant bike £100+ more any lighter?
As for the more expensive giant, I'm guessing it's a similar scenario.
Not all about lightness. Much about feel too.
Not a road bike. A hybrid. A road bike is completely different.I wouldn't ride a flat bar much on the road as it isn't comfortable.
