OK, I know this is a low/entry level bike and won't appeal to everyone, but compared to a few of the recent Carrera deals at Halfords, given the specs I think this is quite competitive.? Comments are welcome.. I'm contemplating road biking so just a beginner.

This is a really good deal for a road bike it should be hotter
Alright bike. Hate the wheels though.
Will do 99% of people as a cheap commute or fitness aid. The chattering class 1% will whinge about a kg extra weight or higher spec components
The frame looks nice

Sorry Rev I meant constructive comments
where r t bike snobs?

where r t bike snobs?

Awful piece of junk.
Thanks for input, the 300 is out of stock but the 500 doesn't look to have especially different specs, or at least not 60 quid mores worth.

Can you advise any further, probably buying this weekend. ta
Okay I found 3x bikes for around £200, I think they sit in this order:

1) £230 (£207 with voucher trick) Boardman Sport -
2) £280 Triban 500 -
3) £215 Calibre Progress -

The boardman is first as it has a double chainset, claimed weight is less, mavic wheels, I like the tyres it comes with, internal rear brake cabling, aluminium fork and if you can be bothered to get vouchers it can be had for £207.

There's not that much to distinguish between the other two, other than colour and the btwin comes with a lifetime frame/fork warranty.

Thanks mate. The boardman is too small sadly.
The decathlon, are the components really £65 better?
not in stock anywhere near me and not available for delivery. I thought it was odd that I'd have missed that price. Thanks all the same bud.
