Ok - so comparing to the Gt Avalanche Sport:
Gear shifters are 2 groupsets higher on the GT
FD one groupset higher on the GT
RD is 2 groupsets higher and into the enthusiast range on the GT
Crankset prowheel vs all terra - hmmmm
Brakes the same
Cassette goes with the Calibre (sunrace vs Shimano)
Wheels are either any good!
So where are we left - the fork, imo, is better on the Calibre - however being straight rather than tapered limits any future upgradeability and is a bit of a limitation with that frame!
Plus of course the GT is over £30 cheaper.

Don't think a bad find mind and have voted hot - perhaps a review for others to read may help bikeradar.com/mtb…67/

Which would you suggest between the GT and the Calibre Two Cubed for a young teenager.

Thanks what’s not been mentioned is wheel size , calibre 29 vs GT 27.5
I’m opting for 29 but it’s quite subjective answer as it’s pure personal choice

I would go for GT as I don’t like frame geometry in calibre two cubed. Whats should be taken to the account is additional cost for bike build when comes via delivery (GT) vs calibre (built in store) assuming go outdoors bike department can successfully build a bike

From GT and calibre rake still would prefer rake which is just £50 more then two cubed

Thanks for the update. Do Go Outdoor build the bike as part of the price or do they charge extra? I'm thinking about the rake.

Bike build included in a price. If you go for calibre rake there is tcb/cashback on top which takes down price to by another £19 (tcb) and £15 quidco for new customers

Bought the Calibre with 29" - one happy biker.
large bike , then you throw in 29 in wheels ,
good that it got options 27' wheel .
easier to thrown the bike around
and with hydraulics stopper
