I'd buy it if I thought that my PC was powerful enough to play it!

people still pay this? i thought after six was out this would have been out of date, give you some heat anyway

i played it yesterday and it felt so outdated, but was still fun. biggest difference i noticed was hit response, it sucks on COD4.
EDIT: actually on PC this might be better since it uses dedicated servers and MW2 doesnt.

It won't ever be this cheap new on PS3/360 due to unnecessary liscensing pushing the price up of games

Picked my copy up for £4.50 at Christmas in WHSmiths, decent single player but really don't understand the hype over the multiplayer

To be fair this was actually priced at £15 last year @ Game (online orders only). Sadly, I missed that small print, but still ended up with a copy for £20 as I went in-store that morning to get it.

Yes, people still play this... and what with the dedicated server nonsense that happened with the latest release of CoD, many people cancelled their pre-orders and continued with CoD 4.

There's also a multitude of mods to choose from if you get bored, k3 and Freeze Tag (ftag) being just 2 that I play regularly. Servers are always maxed out so when you get in you have a decent game on your hands.

Definately worth purchasing if your system can handle it - there's still a good year or so left on it IMO. I was still playing the original CoD & UO up until last year so I had 6 years worth of gaming with that alone.

Was going to buy but its gone out of stock

Good price but thought i read somewhere on here the free map packs have expired on game of the year edition?

Nope, the map packs don't even need to be registered on PC, they were free all along with patches.

Probably the console version you heard that about.

After the fiasco that was the PC release for CoD6 and the very rude remarks by Infinity Ward towards PC gamers, I doubt many of us will be handing our hard earned cash over to this lot ever again - I know I won't be doing.

Indeed. I thought being able to pick what server or map you wanted to play on was basic functionality! A matchmaking system could have still been implemented alongside a server list, see Left 4 Dead series.

Well, IW aren't doing either of the next two titles. Treyarch are doing the next which is in Vietnam followed by Sledgehammer Games (makers of Dead Space) who plan to incorporate "action adventure elements", could be interesting...
