The P.C. version is steam only. You cannot resell the game as the licence is linked to the steam account.

unfortunately not.
You need to activate your steam account and download any patches, only then would you be able to play offline.
The problem is unless this is a sealed/unused key, it would not be possible to activate.

well it means you can have a choice of server and join the 1 you wish to doesnt it ? rather than it just dumping you on any old server ?

oh see what you mean now

I remember finding my flatmate's stolen stuff in one branch and neither they, nor the police did anything about it.

L4D works in the same way, and works well.

Anyways, it isnt ALL about the multiplayer!

Hot from me.

I'm still boycotting it seeing as how they screwed PC gamers. Eitherway in my opinion i think your much better off buying Bad Company 2. Its available for cheaper (£24.28) and is a much better experience in terms of online gameplay.

EDIT: You got it wrong Mr. Shed. L4D has dedicated servers (unless the guy hosting specifically selects 'host locally') which means even though you can't pick a server yourself you will still join a deciated one and can still join a specific one if you own it (or know the details) and more importantly your likely to get a much better performance\ping. Modern Warfare 2 has no dedicated servers which means the person whos hosting the game, ends up hosting the match on his personal internet connection so if he's got a ****** connection your all screwed.

Cold as PC's as so not as good as consoles............

Joking

theres a dedicated server tool getting made for this game.

Interesting! Is this official or a third-party (fan hack). Any link for more info?

of course you can but game data must be deleted from the steam account.

If 'Works well' is defined as 'three out of every four attempts to join a game either don't work or dump you in a badly running game' then I'd hate to see what your definition of works badly is. L4D is a decent game but it's matchmaking is awful.

Personally I'd happily use a good matchmaking system but it's very difficult to implement to a satisfactory standard for more demanding games and a server/game browser is just simpler to get working well.

And yes, it is all about the multiplayer as this is a recent call of duty title so the singleplayer is vanishingly small (5 hours, 6?) and I guess not many people are going to want to buy it for this price if they're not interested in it's multiplayer (although I could be wrong as I feel that way myself).

i never said it was , if you take time to read the thread i think you will find i was merely answering a question that was put forward .

Really, Have you got a link on some info on this. I know some people hacked it after about a week of it's release & ran it on dedicated servers but nothing for the general public seems to have appeared so we can all play on dedicated servers & tell Infinity Ward to f**k off.

Not true.. Once its tied to an account that's it, you have it forever

I cant say I've had those problems to be honest. Not denying they exist, but never had em myself.

I think you really just made my own point.

In YOUR opinion its all about the multiplayer.

I personally prefer a good in depth single player game, regardless of length - the best gaming moments generally are single player (although obviously the longevity is in MP).

E.g. - Max Payne is one of my personal favourite games ever, with some brilliant moments. Very short game, and no multiplayer.

Others opinions will obviously differ, but that just goes to establish that, as I said, it isnt ALL about the multiplayer.

what a numpty...ok if you don't know about the game but then why not just keep quiet.
you cannot sell games which are tied to a steam account....the whole purpose of tying serial keys to accounts is so once activated they then cannot be resold....hence kill off the second hand pc market.
