I'm glad to see a few vita deals popping up because I'm hoping to get one and a ps3 this month. Just crossing my fingers for Killzone Mercenary to go on sale. Also does anyone know of a cheaper place to buy the japanese 64gb memory cards, I knew they were expensive but the cheapest I have seen them is £71 on play-asia.

That’s pretty good in fairness, I went ahead last Christmas at £80. Just seems to be one of those things you either want or don’t. Having 64GB is so worthwhile tho

I’ve watched the price on CEX creep from £65 to £90 in the space of a few weeks, as stock has steadily decreased. Unfortunately there’s no such thing as a cheap Vita memory card (unless you hack it and use a standard microSD card).

Odin Sphere is a great hack ‘n’ slash type game, from the developers of Dragon’s Crown (also great).

Persona 4 is critically acclaimed, but occasionally divisive. Some people just can’t get on board with it, while others reckon it’s one of the best games of all time.

Drinkbox games are excellent: Mutant Blobs, Severed, Guacamelee.

I recently finished Steins;Gate. It’s a ‘visual novel,’ and while I was surprised at the lack of interaction (it’s 99.9% reading), I absolutely loved it.

Here’s Metacritic’s list:

This game is big stinky cow pat. If you want a FPS on the Vita go with Killzone. Duke Nukem and Stranger's Wrath are ports of old games but both are much better than COD. Miles and miles better. Can't think of others I'd suggest

You saved me a reply I wouldn’t remove a single game from that list either (personal opinion). That’s pretty definitive and shows how amazing the Vita is.
Can't believe this has some heat... This is a 1/10 game. Getting a turd thrown in your face is more enjoyable than this.

Also try Unit 13 as a shooter, not FPS
Maybe I got a bad memory card. As it just stopped couldn't format or anything. Well after doing alot of reading about trying to format it or get it to work again alot of people say that any card higher than the 16gb has a tendency to fail or get corrupted. Just what I saw.. I had the 32gb
This game is hard as hell and the save points are too far apart. Looks good but is a slog.

i have a 16,8,8,4, gb cards and just swop them round between ps tv and ps vita as needed got a 4 gb from cex for £3.50 3 weeks ago but when i paid they said oh should be £5:50 but let me have it for sticker price sometimes not often you see vita bundles go on sales on ebay with cards and games that sell for the same value as the cards so could be worth buying a bundle keeping cards and selling vita and games to cover costs

A few others I've enjoyed:
XCOM (brilliant turn-based strategy)
Tiny Troopers Joint Ops (Cannon Fodder-esque twin stick shooter)
Spellspire (word-based puzzler)
Oceanhorn (Zelda clone)
Salt and Sanctuary (side-scrolling Dark Souls-alike)
Bastion (unique, beautiful top-down brawler)
Volume (Metal Gear Solid VR Missions for the 21st century)
Thomas Was Alone (puzzle-platformer with a great story)
Rogue Legacy (if Dark Souls was made for the MegaDrive)
Super Meat Boy (hard-as-nails platformer)
OlliOlli2 (best skateboarding game of this gen, albeit largely due to lack of competition)
Motorstorm RC (brilliant, addictive top-down racer)
I thought Killzone was really good on the Vita, Resistance Burning Skies was 'OK' but nowhere near the quality of KZ.

Other titles I enjoyed on the Vita:
Putty Squad
Uncharted Golden Abyss
Tearaway
Twin Robots
36 Fragments of Midnight
Severed (some really frustrating fights)

I bought my Vita from eBay a year ago and managed to get a bundle with games and a 32gb card.

I have wondered whether to get Black Ops Declassified but everything I've read says it's pretty poor.

BTW, if you're a trophy hunter you can play Motorstorm RC on either the PS3 or the Vita and then auto-pop them on the other console for another platinum.

I’m not a huge Vita player, but I do love it and some games just play better in a handheld. Axiom Verge and Shovel Knight are great retro-style games, and you can get cheap PS1 classics like Castlevania SotN, God Of War, Metal Gear Solid etc. And of course I can’t recommend the upcoming Secret Of Mana remake this week highly enough!

Oh man totslly forgot about the Secret of Mana vita release! By the time I get one in a few weeks I'll have about 10 games haha. Already got Shovel Knight on Wii U and Switch but I'd triple dip if I got it on sale and also very interested in Axiom Verge.
