Found in Blockbuster, COD: WAW only £19.99 for xbox 360

Unsure if pre-owned or not... but first time I've ever seen this game under £20..

Perfect timing as the new map pack has been relesed!

(This replaces Blockbusters previous offer of Gears of War 2 for £9.99)

PS. This is my first post, so go easy on me if I did anything wrong ;-)

EDIT: Now confirmed for PS3 and is pre-owned stock.

did they confirm the £19.99 price for the PS3 version?

is this new/preowned

rang my local its offer of the week pre owned £19.99 only asked about xbox buy expect it to include playstation 3 too

Good price, even for pre-owned

About average for this used, seen it sell for less privately. Not bad from a store though I suppose.

I'm holding out for it come down to what it's worth ;-) £15 I might be tempted :-D

yes mate they did

Are Blockbusters' pre-owned games ex-rentals or trade ins?

Never known a Blockbuster to do trades.

Great game for 20 quid, definitely worth it even though its pre-owned. However remember COD Modern Warfare 2 is coming out soon

Trade-ins.... BB is a division of Game/Gamestation (I think) and stores (or at least my store) opeates a pre-owned section just like all Gamestation stores do, even with 2for 20/30/40 offers

Yeah its probably one final sales push before everyone buys COD:MW2 in November.

Is that the US cover art? Looks different to my copy.

No disrespect to the Op or bargain, but as a general principle £20 for a secondhand game is crazy, these particular games command a disproportionately high price don't they?

Have you all read what the CEO of Activsion is saying...?

He wants to increase the price of games bcause we the consumers are willing to pay it.

The new CODMW2 game has got an RRP of £54.99, although has been found cheaper, but is a miles away from the standard release deals of £30 that games were starting to get.

Activision would like to raise game prices … Activision would like to raise game prices furtherRetailers supportive of high-priced titles, consumers willing to payActivision is confident in its current product pricing strategy, and CEO Bobby Kotick would like to raise game prices "even further."The company recently confirmed that Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will carry a RRP of £54.99 when it releases this November, while the COD: Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Pack will retail for £119.99. Meanwhile, upcoming releases like Tony Hawk: Ride and DJ Hero, which ship with unique controller peripherals, will likely carry price tags that push £100.During an earnings call yesterday, Activision executives were asked about retailers' reactions to the company's pricing strategy.".. On the pricing, we've had for all of our launch titles in the back half of this year, some of which contain peripherals, as you point out, very strong retailer acceptance and support for all parts of our plan, including our merchandising plans, our marketing programs, and our price points," said Activision Publishing boss Michael Griffith.Company CEO Bobby Kotick added: "... You know if it was left to me, I would raise the prices even further," before stating that pre-orders for Activision products were an indication that consumers were comfortable with current pricing levels."As far as the premium priced product, you know, collector's editions and things like that, I'd say we're seeing probably more interest than we have in the past on the collector's editions, so that's a pretty good indication of the interest in these franchises."

They command a high resale price as they provide much better value than other games. Most people get at least a year out of the online game (usually until the next COD gets released).

There's bound to be a GOTY edition out soon before MW2.

I saw quite a few in the Blockbusters on Allerton Road in Liverpool , not sure if this is next weeks deal of the week because on Monday they had uncharted , infamous and Farcry2 . But I saw WaW and what took my interest was Saints Row 2 for £12.95 .

But they already are higher priced than all the other games! COD has always been a pain to get cheap. I mean look at COD4 and how old that is you're lucky to get that for less than £25 even now.

If people blindly accept the price of MW2 as it's a better game than the others then we will soon see ALL games priced higher. People moan about high taxes, recessions, low wages, fuel prices etc and then fall over themselves to pay more than almost anywhere in the world for many items!

Remember COD is popular worldwide yet it's only us that have had these HUGE price increases.

I can't blame Activision for taking advantage of our stupidity at all..

Bargain, buy the Zombie maps (Y)

Can only blame the consumers willing to pay the inflated RRPs.

Take GAME for example, how many people go there for new releases despite them being 39.99 or 44.99

I never buy games at these prices as shopping around online you can find new releases for 37.99, 34.99 or sometimes 29.99

Oh and DLC is the biggest rip-off ever, companies just hold back levels/ maps etc which could have gone on the disc for free..... and then package it for 800MSP and above.

Crewe BB have a few copies in im told by management.

Don't count on it, Map pack 2 was only released in the last couple of months and MP3 this week (just bought it)

The multiplayer on this is fantastic will keep you going forever

We should do the same as the Japanese, because they refuse to buy DLC it is a lot cheaper to buy DLC in Japan because of the lack of interest.

I have never paid for DLC and never will, I usually wait until the game is a bargain price anyway, I have still not bought the last Call Of Duty game and will wait until it is even cheaper £10 - £15 range.

In terms of campaign, for real addicts, Cod 2 is by far the best. Cod 4 was good on first play but then got tedious, but anyway, good price for this game (Cod 5). Heat.

tight so and so:whistling: lol nah im not the biggest fan of buying DLC mate, except GH and RB music, but thats expensive too. big rip off but the masses want so.....

nothing special about £20 for a second hand game, ok if it was new.

If anyone has a copy they want to sell on PS3 check my FS/FT thread

Fallout 3 has been confirmed as GOTY 2009, so NO there won't be a world at war GOTY edition.

Hope this helps Also 19.99 is a bargain for pre owned cod games as there new prices never drop in price (well maybe to like 29.99 min)

I buy most of my games preowned now or from the deals on this site as they always drop half the price in like 2 or 3 weeks from release.

What, never? Good luck trying to play games on the next generation of consoles then. :whistling:

yeh we should never have to pay for DLC its a complete ripoff, pc versions of the games get it all for free, why any different for console owners.

I think he's suggesting the next gen consoles are VERY likely to be based around an online downloadable game model.

You can now download full Xbox 360 games through Live, there are the Live Arcade Games and the PSN games. The new PSP-Go is all online based.

Will be horrible when it does happen :x No used games for starters.

+1:thumbsup:

Great game. CoD games are expensive, but well worth it when I consider how much time I've spent playing them online.
I never bother with the rip off DLC either.

I can't see it happening for the following reason:-

Only a small percentage of the people in the world have high speed internet access without download limits.

Everytime a new games console is released the size of the games on the discs/cartridges becomes larger, so with upto 50GB a blu-ray disc thats a lot to download right now.

Even though Sony have released the PSPGO they have said it is not to replace the normal PSP, they will both be sold together.

Oh my word! I've just picked up a copy for £9.95! As I phoned them up and asked what they would trade in for my Pure on Xbox360 for and the bloke said to me £10! I almost run there lol. I only paid £10 for at xmas from HMV. I can't believe it.

I never thought I would get this game for £9.95, I'm over the moon
