I’m in my late 30s...do people still play game consoles at this age?

Im 42 , everyone I know of my age group has a console and always have . Crikey I've been doing this since playing on my cousins Atari 2600 in 1979 and I'm never stopping.
We are the original gamers , why should age stop us.

Run, kill, die, respawn.
Run, kill, die, respawn.
Run, kill, die, respawn.

Buy a real FPS, Rainbow Six Siege

Meh I'm over 50, and have been gaming since the 70's

Your reactions get slower, and you get more abuse on FPS's because of that, but I still enjoy it

And no shouty teenager is going to stop me

I am just teasing him. You spoiled it now.

last cod i got was BO3 which was fun to play.. my friends are all buying WW2, i'm on the fence about this..
how are you guys findin the multiplayer so far in terms of servers, maps, guns? heard the game is little more campy which I expect from going back to regular ground movement and not the advance stuff anymore.

Played Zombies last night and was pretty fun.. best cod ive played in ages!

Glad to hear... Always had faith in Sledgehammer - if only for the SP campaign. Just need to finish Wolfenstein2 by BF, and get this afterwards...

Cheapest was £44 until now. Keep an eye on eBay though, I got one for £35 but have seen several go for less than £30!

Current price to retailers is £34.75 so expect a little more to come off this price this week

Honestly, I've played every cod since MW2, I think this is probably one of the worst ones I've ever played. If your friends get it/ have it, it'll be more fun I guess. Weapons are all very similar, I know it's WW2 but everything is very bland weapon wise. Servers have been bad so far, but that'll be fixed. Cod servers are a lot better than other game servers usually. The maps are the main reason I hate this game. I've played every cod quite competitively, so I feel as though my opinion will be better aligned with others too. Every map is super open, meaning you constantly get shot from angles. Getting a kill almost usually is always followed by a death. Long sight lines lead to campy snipers and short range gunfights are dominated by assault rifles because SMGs are terrible.

All this being said, a lot of people do enjoy the game so you may do too. This is just my opinion. Campaign is pretty great, if that interests you. I'm unsure about zombies as have yet to play it. I'd you're on the fence I'd wait for price to decrease.

Agree about the open maps, every time I shoot someone it's closely if not immediately followed by death.

Servers were terrible first few days but seem to be OK now.

I don't think the maps are great but personally I just can't see past BF1 now.

Difficult getting back into the cod style of gameplay from BF and I just don't think it's as engaging as it used to be.

Graphics are amazing and campaign seems alright from the first mission I've played.

hopefully Battlefront 2 will fill the proverbial hole if this doesn't do it for people. I might jump on the £229 slim bundle i posted. Not the best ps4 slim deal in the run up to BF i expect but i'm sooooo bored of waiting.

deals dropping a little everday on hukd atm so might be £29 in about two weeks?

I had it for a couple of days and returned it. I'd not bought the recent ones either, but, encouraged by the reviews, I got this. Unfortunately the changes are just cosmetic. It's hard not to be cynical when so many of the real player reviews are panning this so badly.

I found the game un-engaging - even basic things like vibration feedback isn't strong enough. The maps are tiny leading to twitch type of gameplay. The single player campaign is way too short too.

I get wholesalers price lists, quite interesting seeing where retailers make more money.

There was a price drop offered on this late this afternoon

One of the best cod's for a while, especially with that jet pack, wall running crap which nobody wants, good price

Yeah maps aren't great, I'm finding it very hard to rush due to the openness of them.

Out of all the cods I've played so far, this one I'm struggling with the most, quite a steep learning curve like IW.

The new game mode "War" is probably the best part, more teamwork involved and I don't believe kills or deaths count towards your K/D so people may be more inclined to push the objective without the fear of ruining their precious ratio.

I think the war mode could be improved by increasing the player count per side. Storming the beaches on the d-day map is fun but it feels a bit too empty, even with the AI soldiers running around.

Don't stay on the fence for too long, sniper are lurking beyond the pines.

So with 20% VAT, if they sell it for less than £41.70 they're making a loss, even before their overheads and postage...?

I'm conflicted about this game. I really need something to play online. But this shipped with only 9 maps and seems like a bland/boring COD. I do not like Battlefield or Overwatch. Destiny 2 looks like it would be closer to my alley, but community feedback seems to be overwhelmingly negative.

I played BO3 to death and skipped previous COD, so i don't feel like playing BO3 again at the moment.

This isn't bad. I skipped last year's and the last I played was BO3. I dont mind the maps myself. It's just the usual lag comp which is a killer. Granted im old and no expert anymore but when you blatantly get the draw on someone and they kill you it's a tad frustrating. Campaign is good fun so far.

It's rubbish don't waste your money on it

I think it’s ok but I didn’t mind IW. Stick Spotify on/ mute game music and run around with a sniper. It’s only a game, don’t take it to seriously and make your own fun.

Yeah this is by far the most difficult cod out there. It's not a skill gap either, the issues arise from poor map design. It's a shame really, could be an excellent game. It suits campers though because of the quick ttk and map design though.

Haha, that's what I've been doing on this one

COD always seems to split opinion. What winds me up is the comparison to Battefield. They are so different and I crave both styles of game at different times. I own COD:WWII and I'm enjoying it.

Im not an avid COD player, I have played COD2, WAW, MW 1,2 3, Black Ops 2 and Advanced Warfare. So its been a while. I bought it cause I was craving COD corridor shooting style and I hate the futuristic approach they have been taking.

Ive played Team Deathmatch and Campaign so far and whilst its typical COD style its pretty solid. I'm enjoying the maps, I think two are particulary strong. I have played the D-Day mission on Veteran which was quite tough and very enjoyable (I play a lot of singleplayer campaigns but COD's the dumbest form you could ever endure). I think if you're on the fence I would recommend it. I paid £44 and think this is a good deal.

I just want a go on campaign mode - the only thing I’m good at online is respawning

I’m in my late 30s...do people still play game consoles at this age?
