Stop talking garbage; youre not "breaking the law". You can record whatever conversations you want to.
Automatic Call Recorder (ACR) Pro is still showing as free when I access 'Google Play' on my phone.

This one ; play.google.com/sto…_GB
It is very confusing as there are many recorders with very similar names and Logos.

I recently had to take something back to a shop and beforehand rang head office for advice and was given and was told yes it would be fine,I got to the shop and they said they wouldn't refund me as i didn't have the debit card that was used for the purchase as a friend had purchased the item for me but got the wrong product,I said I had a record of the conversation from head office on my phone, and the deputy manager listened to the call and gave me my refund,I did have the receipt.

Individuals. An individual may record a call as long as he or she is one of the participants of the call. The recording can be used as evidence in a lawsuit. However, it is illegal to record communications that the recording party is not participating in.

Do you not have to tell them you are recording ?

Often if you are calling a call centre they already declare it, but yes if you want to rely on it legally.

Most companies do not actually record the calls when they say that calls my be recorded, it is just a way of reducing the amount of angry people that their call centre staff would incur if they didn't say it.

This is correct. I have ACR and looked into it before using it. You are allowed to produce transcripts of the recording for circulation but you can't play the recording to others without the other person in the calls permission. The recording can be played in court though should he need arise.

I find it really useful though for recalling what was said in conversations - prices discusses, email addresses given over the phone etc. There's no need to find a pen when someone is giving you details as you can just replay it later. I can recommend ACR. This may be just as good or better... have no experience of it as ACR does everything I need.

Really? You could have been having a conversation with your mate and swinging him a few pints for all he knew
Bad reviews, but being free I'm guessing they 'may' have done something about the app and tried to improve and give it for free to get better reviews.... maybe. Trying it out anyway.
Been using AVR for a long time and it works a treat. I can't comment on this one but heat regardless because it is free and therefore I have installed it and uninstalled it so that I could use it in the future if I change my mind.

There should be a sticky to this type of question and comment as the exact same things were said last time someone posted a call recording deal.

Private individuals may recorded their phone calls without the consent of the other party, companies must inform private individuals they are being recorded. If, as an individual, you have recorded a phone call, you must ensure that you do not distribute it to others or share notes and transcripts. In civil cases often a phone call recording will be subject to usual rules of disclosure.

If you have a recording and want to use it, it may be better to ask permission of the court for the recording to be officially transcribed. This way you may avoid Data Protection issues.
Always handy for recalling stuff later. Just make sure to make a decision on whether to keep the recording after each call, I amassed near 1gb on my phone and I'm mot exactly on the phone all the time. Also, read reviews carefully on call recorders, a lot of negative reviews come after android updates that change the way you have to record the sound streams make the apps temporarily outdated
Been using Automatic Call Recorder for several years now and found it really useful to replay conversations where I want to make sure I haven't misheard, misunderstood or forgotten something said. Will install and see if this is as good or better.

The complete call was recorded from the outset including the automated voice, giving options as to which department I wanted to speak to etc,it was quite obvious it was a recording of me and the large company concerned and it even had the phone number displayed against the recording,

The law states you can record any meeting you are part of and any conversation you are part of...

You can also use these recordings in court but the weight they hold depends on how 'just' you were in obtaining them... for example attending a work hearing and asking if you can record the meeting for the request to be denied but you record anyways will hold more weight than if you dont ask and just record....
It shows you are being reasonable if you ask....

However, it wholly depends on the situation and what you are recording - if you are recording an abusive caller then for example it will fall in your favour....

Its a bit of both, source: I used to be one of those annoying assholes calling about your insurance policy that was due for renewal. Most common for swearing was those who started of sounding like sweet little old ladies, they made my day when he air turned blue it never failed to amuse me.
