Does this mean if I top up my giff gaff account with £10, that gives me free giff gaff to giff gaff calls for 3 months. If I use this will I get free calls to India as well for the 3 month period?

more details

How does the service work?

You will receive a personal mobile number based in the Isle of Man. All calls to that number are diverted to the foreign number that you will request. For example, you can have an Isle of Man number such as 07924 012345 diverted to Pakistan to 00921234567890. Whenever someone calls 07924012345, the call will end up in Pakistan at 00921234567890. As long as you are using your inclusive minutes on O2 or Orange, you can call Pakistan for free!

Are there any hidden charges?

No, as long as you have inclusive cross-network minutes on the Orange or O2 network, there are no charges whatsoever. How can TalKal provide free overseas calls if without taking any payment? TalKal receives a small amount of money on the mobile termination rate on the incoming call. Every mobile phone operator receives this fee when somebody calls their network. Most operators pocket the money they receive, but TalKal throws the money back in to allow you to make free international calls. For this reason, the service is only available to just over 60 destinations, as it would cost us more to forward calls to the more expensive countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE and some European mobiles.

From which networks will I be able to make free international calls?

At the moment, this service will only be free to contract users of the Orange and O2 networks, who will be able to use their inclusive minutes to make free calls. This is because calls to the Isle of Man are included within the inclusive minutes. Some MVNO’s of these networks, like GiffGaff will also include calls to our numbers. The service is primarily for O2 and Orange pay monthly customers. If you are using pay as you go on these networks and have a bundle, we advise you to make a short test call to check it. Calls to Isle of Man using Vodafone, T-Mobile or 3 incur an additional charge and are not part of the inclusive minutes.

When dialling from the Orange network, I hear a message saying I will be charged for this call?

With the merger of Orange and T-Mobile some customers are hearing this message when calling from the Orange network. This service does not currently support the T-Mobile network, so you will hear this message if your Orange phone is 'roaming' on the T-Mobile network. We will update all our customers should there be a change in pricing.

@ Ray Khan
yes bro should work as my country works and i use GG :P

interesting, my mother law could use this to call india, and she has a tesco pay monthly aswell.

Please beware some providors charge you for the international call, and if like orange you have no leg to stand on as it is not part of the services and can be charged !!!!!!!!!

why not use acecall as an option provides similar service

I believe ray may still have to buy a goody bag. Because that is what gives the inclusive minutes (250) for the uk assuming he buys the £10 package. But i guess the hokey goody bag isnt bad for a family member that is a light user. You could effectivly top them up with your minutes.

Edit: also the free giffgaff to giffgaff minutes likely do not apply to this server

yes rightly said you need the £10 goodybag or 8p per minute standard

under destination Number, we put the number that we want to call? Like an Overseas number, or do we put our mobile number?

fishy???

You would put the number you wish to call
Select the country and enter the number
Then it will issue you with a unique UK Isle of Man Mob Number to use

Hey im abroad in the Philipines but moving around im on giffgaff can this help me in any way? I have lots of friends on giffgaff but can I phone them if I buy a goody bag? Please let me know

works. call quality is ok. my main concern would be any risks to our data held by a company in Isle of Man?

how does free giffgaff to giffgaff mins work for calling the access number? surely the access number is not a giffgaff number?

Just tried it, great quality. Thanks

so if i buy a £10 goody bag , i,ll get 250 mins to ring india. for 1 month. not 3 months, works out 4p per minute .Not really worth it for gg users i guess .

This is excellent. I paid £20 extra for the o2 international bolt on to call the gf abroad, but with this I can just use part of my inclusive minutes so i'm saving £20 a month. Outstanding!

how long to recive this number.

Will this work with a Sim-only monthly contract on O2?

Thanks in advance.

it turned out to be "currently busy" all the time, rubbish

Very HOT! Time to reconnect with my mates all over the world!

I just used it from my Tesco sim only card and it works.
Just need to see if these numbers appears as free in on my bill or not.

Thanks for your reply, Vinh.

So there are no fees whatsoever for this service? Usually its an access number and they charge you a small amount for the call.....but your saying its totally free?

IT IS A CON! THEY ANSWER YOUR CALL AND PLAY A MESSAGE THAT THE SYSTEM IS BUSY, CALL AGAIN LATER. YOU LOST YOUR MINUTE, THEY GOT THEIR TERMINATION FEE, THAT'S IT. THEY ARE SCAMMERS, AND THEY ARE ADVERTISED HERE TO MAKE CROWDS OF BARGAIN-HUNTERS TO CALL THEM - IT CREATES GOOD MONEY FOR NOTHING EFFORTLESSLY.

I used it yesterday from my Tesco card and today I can see on my on-line usage that Tesco have charged me £2.34 for 7 minutes.

I would not be using this again.

I'm actually on the phone to my best friend in America... THANK YOU so much. I just woke her up haha. I haven't been able to call her for months. I'm so excited right now.

Stop writing in capital letters and don't make a general statement if you weren't able to use them.
I've been using them on a few occasions and never had a problem
