Product Description
DacMagic XS Headphone Amplifier

The tiny USB DAC for the biggest and best laptop sound!

Whether you realise it or not, your laptop's headphone socket is delivering dull, lifeless and small sound that's lacking in vital detail and volume when you need it. That's because the Digital to Analogue Converters (DACs) found on laptop soundcards are cheap, basic rubbish.

The DacMagic XS transforms the way your computer sounds by providing an instant upgrade to the sound output. It connects quickly and easily to your computer's USB port and allows you to hear your favourite music, games and films, exactly as the artist intended.

A marvel of British engineering, the DacMagic XS delivers the bass and clarity you're missing from your digital audio, anywhere and everywhere. And no other USB DAC at this price sounds this good or is this small.

More power
The built-in powerful headphone amp increases the punch of your headphones, delivering 10 times more power than most soundcards can manage. Even in the noisiest environments you will hear what you want and nothing you don't.

Simple set up
This headphone amplifier plugs straight into a PC or Mac via a USB cable, with your headphones plugging into it. It's up and running instantly and is small enough to carry anywhere.

Easy control
With its ergonomic design, simply adjust volume at the tap of a finger

Tiny, but full of technology
The DacMagic XS is smaller than a matchbox, yet it uses technology from our high-end separate system DACs to give you absolutely amazing digital audio detail on the go.

Plug your headphones into a Cambridge Audio DacMagic XS and hear what you've been missing.

for something this size i'm quite tempted - i'm sure it's reduced because an usb3 revision is on it's way but the sample rate of this version (192khz) is plenty enough and the best part is it'll never be obsolete - you can just take it to the next pc/laptop you own.

Oh, 192k? No thanks. Defeats the purpose of having loads of lossless. I don't listen on my Mac anyway, but something like this may have changed that. Think I'll wait for the newer version.

Heat added though, as I know they can be quite a bit more expensive, I've had my eye on the dragonfly for quite a while.

Was about to snap up one of these. Also had considered the Dragonfly when they were available for around £79 just after the v2 was released. Didn't know there was an imminent USB 3.0 version, although I'm sure it will be priced circa £100 which is a little more than I'd want to spend on one of these at the moment until such time as I upgrade my Sennheiser HD380 Pro headphones.

Can't find any details on the new USB 3.0 version. Anyone kind enough to post some links please? Thanks.

Oh, 192k? No thanks.

192khz is fine, are you confusing this with the 192kbps bit rate of compressed audio?
