I just got rid of some SONOS speakers as we wanted something that would just work independently of software. I struggled finding that was reasonably small but with good sound without being one of the super portable speakers. I ordered this over the phone via Richer Sounds and it came next day!

Sounds is great, we can just bluetooth up or stick the 3.5mm in and it just works nicely and looks good too.

"Great British Sound
Designed for a Great British Sound, the Cambridge Yoyo (S) puts sound ahead of all else. Despite its compact size, the Yoyo gives a full-bodied, room-filling sound thanks to its rear-mounted passive bass radiator. Stereo speakers give crisp clarity and the ability to clearly hear the individual vocals and instruments - whatever the music genre.

Material design
Wrapped in acoustically transparent, worsted suit material, the Yoyo features a totally unique and luxurious finish. Made from 100% worsted wool but, thanks to NanoSphere protection, resistant to dirt and liquid, the Yoyo offers the best of all worlds. All you have to do is choose the colour that best suits your decor.

Simple Bluetooth link to your smartphone or tablet with NFC
Thanks to Bluetooth you can hook up your smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer and stream your music library with ease. Whether you use Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer or all of them, it's also a great way of streaming your favourite music services - wire free. Playing music from your smartphone couldn't be easier with the Yoyo. All you need to do is hold the NFC-compatible device next to the speaker and you're ready to start streaming.

Gesture control
Gesture control is ideal if you've got your hands full in the kitchen or muddy from gardening. Rather than touching the speaker or your smartphone, simply swipe across the top of the panel to play, pause or skip - no contact required!

Rechargeable battery and charging
A neat touch with the Yoyo is the built-in rechargeable battery. Once charged it's good for up to 14 hours of continuous playback - enough for most outdoor parties. The speaker also has the ability to charge your smartphone on-the-go via the USB, enabling your phone to keep pace.

Hands-free calls
An added benefit of Bluetooth connectivity with your smartphone is the option of hands free phone calls. A built-in microphone, lets you take calls hands-free, making this Bluetooth speaker ideal for the kitchen or workshop when you don't want to have to touch your phone with messy hands."

Agree with you on running speakers just bluetooth and auxiliary wired inputs. This looks just the job....Still using my gear4 stream 1 and 3 for now...plus other more portable speakers so ok for now, but good post.
Looks like a good price reduction. But £80 seems like a lot for a non-smart speaker based around bluetooth alone. Granted the built in battery will extend its usability and make up for the sound quality.
I got this a while a back and although the sound quality is great, I find it lacking bass. Sonos definitely packs more punch, how are you finding it sounds wise compared to sonos?

The sound isn't as good as the SONOS I don't think. It's not a million miles off but I prefer the extra functionality it has.
