Thank you very, very much!

Wanted one of these for cycling. Ordered myself The Don as I cycle to do my shopping. The helmet thing is invaluable. Thanks!

I do lots of long distance rides and the 'Mule' is brilliant. 3L and loads of room for spare tubes etc

@RokkaMan
I think The Don is the new version of the Havoc which is the one i've been using almost daily for shopping (and riding!) since i got it in 2008. very tough and no zips have failed yet. hopefully they haven't weakened it too much when they lightened it..

Already in a good mood over getting it! Apparently these guys send special delivery too so I might see this on Wednesday.

GOod price for the Mule NV

Just ordered - been looking for one of these for xmas present - saved me a fortune!

Instead of faffing about cleaning and trying to dry the inside after use....just empty rinse and put the bladder in the freezer till next time.

The manufacturer advises against this:

a) it won't kill bacteria
b) it will greatly shorten the life of the rubber reservoir

Hot hot hot! Great price on these

Been doing it for 3 years with no problems....put the bladder in a carrier bag to keep the frost off it.....as for the bacteria, do you worry about drinking ice cubes?

Wow , superb prices , you can buy the Mule NV cheaper than the normall Mule here

With the bite valve that is at right angles, is it small enough to use whilst wearing a full face motorcycle helmet?

(I wont use it whilst actually moving, but when stoppped and saving the time and effort of gloves off, D rings undone helmet off and then back again.)

Ordered thanks

However Costco do hydration packs, which are favourably reviewed, and from memory are somewhere between £10 - £15. I got two earlier this year. However, it is probably a seasonal item as I didn't see any the last time I was in. So just a heads up for anyone who has access to a costco card and doesn't need/want one right now.

These will be selling like hotcakes at half price, don't hang about if you are thinking about buying one. I just use a steradent tablet to clean it every now and again, have been using mine for about two years without a problem.

Excellent deal.

Yup that's very true. My son has used a Costco one for about 18 months with no issues at all.

I've had a few Camelbak packs over the years and while they are very good (there's no denying that) they can be quite expensive. So last time I needed a new one (I ripped mine on a ride) I tried one from Decathlon. All I can say is that I haven't missed my Camelbak at all. They're excellent quality and perform very well. So if you're in the market for a new hydration pack have a look at the Decathlon ones

Thanks ordered the L.U.X.E for my wife and M.U.L.E NV for me.
Nearly bought these for full price in the Summer. Have some heat.

After getting over the stupid name and colour (check the options!) ive ordered the Consigli-whatever. its part of the "outlaw" (freeride) series so like The Don a tougher fabric. Should be like a smaller Havoc basically for shorter rides (in winter all rides are shorter rides :/)
And a LUXE (female MULE) for a gift.

p.s. glad to see this getting some heat.
i agree with above that Camelbacks are overpriced at RRP, but at £30-40 they are good value IMHO as they're very well made and thought out. I havent used other brands to compare though!

But you cant tell from the photos just how good the fabric on the Outlaw (Chaos/Consigli, Havoc/Don, and one in between i'm not sure which) series is. Would recommend these over the Mule and others if you use them daily.

I really like this shop, they seem to do genuine clearances at near trade prices. Worth a look around the site (thanks to the guy who posted SubZero glove deal!).

Ordered one for the other half who was going to buy one with storage next year as he cant store stuff in his current Camelbak!

Great price, have used Cyclestore before also so thumbs up!

Just ordered, thanks for the that!

can anyone tell me whether any of these suits trail running as well please?

thanks.

camelbak official site lets you browse by activity
camelbak.com/spo…spx

basically the Octanes are multi-use, or if you're a woman, the LUXE is highly rated for hiking too, even though its officially for MTB (the hike specific one would be the Helena but i cant see that below £50 anywhere)

Can you use these as a normal rucksack when you don't need the hydration sack?

yeah i don't even bother with the bladders, just pull it out. then you can use that pocket as another storage area (i've put my netbook or books in there!) against your back, or just ignore it.
the whole drinking thing is good for special events but i can't be doing with the faff of cleaning every time and just use a bottle. why buy a camelback then? the rest of the pack is still the most comfortable way to carry stuff on your back whilst riding that i've found.

Have done the same for over 5yrs without fault, brewers sterilising powder is also good & cheap.
The 3l bladder is excellent for smuggling a box of wine into the cricket too;)

Original Poster

damn, those bladder hoses are hard to remove. my fingers still hurt hours later!

even the mule NV is still in stock!
Edited by: "Smiff" 9th Dec 2010

Ordered the Octane 18x the other day! Cheers OP

Original Poster

they seem to have an ebay store, not sure what connection is between that seller and cyclestore.. are we allowed to post ebay sellers now?

price is slightly higher because they charge 2.49 p&p (shop is free p&p over £30, forgot to mention) but some people may prefer to buy from ebay.

Edited by: "Smiff" 10th Dec 2010

heat added, great prices have ordered (mule nv looks out of stock now though unfortunately)
