Nice idea, but...
Don't leave any connectors exposed. Be careful to waterproof the connectors, if you are not careful, you can get water siphoning down the cable into the back of your TV, which sometimes happens with exposed Aerial connections.

Sounds great

agree!!!
my solar fairy lights were all 'destroyed' by the squirrles who nibbled through all the wires at various locations
can no longer be bothered to join them back together after doing it 3 times

because everyone loves to see 2 birds at it

Or here

We had a box up which had nesting birds year after year which I then swapped with one of these. They went in (managed to see this action) but did not nest in it and actually nested in the original box which I put up in the front garden.
Whether it is too small or they don't like the light, not sure. Whatever it is, it's not worth the hassle.

good idea but needs to be wireless really, my old man has a huge garden where they sit and watch the wild life but he would not want to run a wire from a birdbox drill thru his wall to put this in the telly to see it, and then try seal it up after.

Got one for my mum from Lidl last year. Camera failed within 8 months.
Took it back and got a full refund though. Good whilst it lasted but no birds nested.

Keep your receipt folks.

Absolutely agree with this. Saw it and thought it sounded like a decent idea, have a couple of trees at the far end of the garden that'd be perfect for this - but then remembered I'd have to run wiring all the way down there and connect it all up, really not worth my time.

Decent price if you can be bothered or have a decent location, though.

Is the camera movable, so I can get a few shots of the buxom blonde next door?oO

make a drip loop underneath where the cable enters the house if coming in at an angle this will stop any water egress

You shouldn't need to create a drip loop provided you think for a second before drilling a whole to the outside!
Simply angle the hole UP slightly (from outside --> inside) , gravity takes care of the rest :-)

It's easier to drill into walls on the bottom of a brick through the mortar than going up at angles though 2 bricks, if you're sealing with silicone it shouldn't be a problem either, also looks neat with the drip loop
