Seems like a good price.

If possible take a picture next time in-store as I am wondering would this be suitable for canon DSLR or would it crumble with weight

Max load 3Kg - so okay for most entry level DSLRs and standard lenses, but nothing heavier.
It's a good price for what it is, but I'd advise spending a bit more and getting something a bit more sturdy for expensive cameras.

tripods - you very much get what you pay for.

lightweight tripods will give an okay pic.

substantial rock steady tripod will give a better pic.

not saying you should buy the priciest manfrotto out there, but if you pay a bit more than this you will get a better tripod. sorry if that sounds a bit trite but it's true.

How does it compare to the Hama Star 31 with is the same price at Amazon, albeit without spirit levels?

Can you recommend one for a dslr and a telephoto lens

This is a nice sort of good level Manfrotto tripod but I would look around for cheaper price

Thanks

Just bought it at my local Aldi, and for the price it's a real bargain. Very sturdy and well built.

Do you know the weight of the tripod?. Might be on the box.
Thanks

Just bought one. Looks good. However, box says 2 year warranty, instead of the 3 year warranty as shown on their web site.
Weight is 1.2 Kg.

If you're shopping for a cheap one, get a Velbon. Reassuringly solid, all fixings well made, and will last for years.

I've had mine for 15 years, and it cost £14.99.

Saw these tonight, look solid enough - heat added.

I've just bought a Canon Powershot SX50 (my 1st forray into digital photography as a hobby) and I'm looking for a tripod. So much choice, can't make up my mind. Will this tripod do?

Should be fine for a small (Non DSLR camera) if you like photography you can upgrade it as you upgrade your kit.

will this fit a nx1000?

thanks

I can recommend this : hahnel triad 30 amazon.co.uk/gp/…C1S £30 but well made, all metal fittings, ball head, quick release plate, very flexible in position etc. more than strong enough for my dslr.

Just be careful with tripods. I never understand people who spend a grand on cameras and lenses only to trust their kit on a £10 piece of rubbish.
Not saying this is, just saying you need a weighty steady trustworthy bit of kit, especially outdoors.

the one mentioned by davidsaver123 looks a better one for same money.

I got it and believe it is the Star 62 rebranded amazon.co.uk/Ham…h_2. When you take it out of the box, there's a sticker on it saying that it's made by Hama.

This was recommended by a couple of friends who have used one of these for years with no problems. Just popped up and bought one ... Heat added .. Out of the box it looks ideal for what I need

What camera will you be using on it? I have a Canon Powershot SX50 and am worried about the tripod being suitable and sturdy enough.

Will it be ok for a Nikon D3100?

can anybody recommend a decent tripod ,it is for my daughter to go with her nikon d3100 that we bought her for christmas I don't want to spend too much on her first tripod as this is her first dslr and I am not sure if photography is a phase or something she will stick at,If she does then over time I will buy her a better tripod.

Apologies for late reply, used this for my Nikon D3100 and to me it certainly is sturdy enough. Spirit levels to assist stable orientation and a hook at the base to attach your camera bag as a weight. The camera mount is easy to operate and also features a quick release function .
