About the best price this has ever been brand new, with the added bonus of a light worth about £299.
TK42

Having a A7II I would have to agree about the battery life, but if you manage to sell the free roto light for £200 then this deal works out at £600 cheaper. Cant think of a better 42MP full frame camera for this price.

TZP1

I would easily trade a 42mp sensor for dual slots, improved AF, easier flexible spot focus with the joystick, and increased battery life. I also forgot to mention the absolute nightmare of buffer. The a7rii could not take more than 10 images in quick succession before having to buffer which also renders the screen unusable during this time. If you are shooting landscapes and have plenty of time, use manual focus, and don’t mind carrying extra batteries then it’s for you. Otherwise I would either get the a7iii or save for the A7rIII. Just my opinion. Also the link you posted is opinions aimed solely at the OP who asked about its use for landscapes, my advice is based upon general shooting. Plenty of comparative reviews out there for different shooters. :-)

TK42

The A7 iii lacks the 42PM sensor of the A7r II, it also is purported to still have an anti-aliasing filter. Some views here.. http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1533678/0

anewman

Carrying spare batteries isn't a big problem given the A7RIII is double the price. I think I'd sell the Rotolight, probably after comparing it with budget constant LED lights like Yongnuo - I can hardly imagine there's much difference. The A7RII is probably best for landscapes, the A7III probably a better option for portraits, weddings etc.

TZP1

For those considering this, just a quick review; This is the Mark II version and lacks a lot of the features available in the mk3 and the recently released a7iii. While some of these features may seem trivial, trust me in that you will soon realise they are not. The mk2 has no dual card slots, no focus joystick, and the worst battery life of any camera I’ve used. Yes resolution great, yes it’s a decent bargain at £2k, but I recommend purchasing the a7iii for the same price with the newer FZ batteries and improved format factor. Ps rotolight is also extremely overrated. That being said this is the cheapest it has ever been and still decent price for those wanting megapixel superiority

SleepyChris

OK...I looked it up...it does have a small sensor so my comment stands. I'm not flaming the camera or the deal...it has its place. It will be fantastic with enough available light or a bounced flash indoors....without the hassle of a dslr. I had a 18-200mm lens for my dslr...way too much zoom for a sensor that size...loads of distortion, vignetting and CA. This probably can manage that zoom range comfortably.

tempt

Like it when cameras come with a lens attached to them. Heated!

brilly

whats the point of commenting if you dont have a clue about the camera? the specs are available to at least give your post some credibility...

SleepyChris

With the size of that lens I’m guessing this is nowhere near aps-c...or do I guess wrongly? If it's the usual small sensor bridge camera gig then IMHO you can't compare it to a dslr. I loved my f828 bridge camera but ultimately had to move onto a dslr

mknotek

hi there, If you want to fairly compare, these are competitors: http://snapsort.com/cameras/Sony-Cyber-shot-DSC-RX10-II-competitors tbh, I am not fan of bridge cameras, but I am sure there are people for who, this is the best choice.

I apologize I didn't see the cashback added in the title. Good price for a legit UK body. I would recommend the eBay site which I imported mine from for £1450 with a 1 year warranty but I'm not sure if the rules here allow it.

brilly

did it have cashback last year? ( lol )

JamesClark1991

Not the cheapest price ever, it was £2000 on Black Friday last year lol. Also it can be had for sub £1500 imported which is where I got mine (works perfectly, 1 year warranty).

brilly

looks a good deal cheapest ever price + big cashback no way i am paying that for a camera but doesn't mean its not a good deal

dealmeup

Excellent price if you’re need the 42mp. It’s OK for action but obviously bettered by the newer gen models. Stills are fantastic - even the kit lens and cheapo glass can deliver with this. Still a monster for landscape and portrait shooters.

I was swithering and now it's back up to £999. I have a Canon DSLR and a stack of lenses but want something smaller for travel. It's a shame that the Canon mirrorless offerings just don't get quite as many stellar reviews as Fujifilm, plus I'd have to buy a lens adapter to use any of my lenses with it.

Could do with the mkiii cheap

jazzuk777

Probably get a better deal on the EM5 tomorrow, especially if you don't mind buying a bundle deal and selling the unwanted bits to reduce the price down - my EM5 body on a previous BF deal worked out at under £200 after split-kitting.

AlpineTrails.co.uk

i meant budget vs em5. I was obviously talking here about MKii for both.even though very similar, i still think the 10 series have their place. But of course that's just my point of view. I believe Olympus do double cashback from time to time. Doesn't seem to be the case at the moment. So yes it is possible to get them cheaper. It also depends what retailer you buy from. The online shop ones always tend to sell cheaper.

You can get great images from any of those cameras. Tz100 is the only truely pocketable, and so may get used more on days out. Decide if you want the hassle/benefits/cost of interchangeable lenses.

I'm in the market for a new camera and overlooked this. Anyone know if this is a better all round amateur enthusiast 1st decent camera than the Sony a6000 or the Panasonic TZ100 that are in the same price bracket? my use would be mainly days out, music festivals, gigs, landscapes and wildlife. cheers for any advice
