No it isn't.
Once the gas gets down to about a third the canister gets so cold it doesn't work because the lpg can't turn to gas. I used to change the canister for a 'warm' one.

For the price this is good. I have the same stove and has not let me down. One pan at a time but has kept me happy

you must have spent more than 3.99 on the petrol

Yeah, crossed my mind too But seriously, I've been looking for a few other things as well, so not completely crazy yet

I was thinking that! Could have ordered a couple full price online and still saved some money!!

Liked for the pun

Isn't there a safety issue with these exploding?

it's impossible for this deal to be literally hot. The deal is not physical. Yes the stove can be hot but the stove is not the deal. the deal is the value paid for it. Going off topic now though; good deal but aren't these stove just a little bit poor?

How much did you waste on fuel for that?

25miles loop trip, so about 3l of fuel= £3.21 to buy £150+ worth of camping stuff for less than £30. Any other questions?

Hardly the cookers fault if the gas canister gets too cold. I use these stoves every day, I'm an OAP and find them perfect to use for one persons requirements. When the gas gets too cold I simply replace it with a full canister and put the partly full one away for warmer times. I also have spare stove for if and when the current stove packs up, the current stove is three years old!!!

We have an induction hob but don't want to use it for cooking the perfect steak - which we need screaming hot - as our pan gets so hot it marks the surface. We use one of these with our cast iron skillet and it does the job just perfect. I'd say each canister lasts around 15 'cooks'. Easily less than 10p a go.

Our B&M Home store in Shrewsbury was sold out of all of the camping gear early last week, hope that saves a wasted journey for someone.

None in the reading branch.

I wouldn't.

They're a bit more expensive, but you can get mini-stoves that attach directly on top of gas canisters instead of old-style stoves like this, and they're great because they weigh barely anything, and take up practically no rucksack space.

Here's one example, although there are smaller and lighter ones out there.

All the good clearance garden stuff sold out at B&M store Old Kent Road London SE15.

These aren't designed for backpacking - far too heavy for that. But for car camping, or as a spare hob at home, they're great. "Top-of-cylinder" stoves are much less stable - depends what you're looking for.

what

We always keep a couple of these around, no mains gas in our village so when theres a powercut this saves the day, Also good for stuff you don't want in your house like boiling up wax and linseed for beehives and boiling phosphoric acid to clean minerals. Hot deal.

Yes, I've got one for power cuts in the winter. Before I got it we had three cuts in three weeks. since I bought it I've used it only once lol it's a good thing to have tho when there's no electricity.

My induction hob does the same, but hob brite has always managed to get rid of any burnt marks easily enough.

Voted hot! Bought one of these babies for an interrail trip around Europe and did not disappoint. Cooked way too many Batchelors Super Noodles with it instead of actual food though :P Whilst the gas may not be included, they do not cost that much and you can use the £5 you save and purchase some :P

Not exactly on topic, but we use silicone mats on our induction hob to prevent any marking. Hope this helps.

That's why I stick to my propane gas cylinder and separate double burner.
