Which store?

Good price for a cracking jacket. A niche jacket though.

Canada! But this is a great deal as even in Cabada this Jacket is £328 as of today XE rate and that's without tax so it's a very competitive deal, great jackets but they are very warm and prob not useful in the UK but great price £625 for this jacket on other UK Canada goose authorised retailers

And the picture is of a Chilliwack Bomber jacket not Parka

Although you can't see it in the pic, the coat is actually made of live geese who eat chillis. Then their waste gas and excrament provide a feeling close to central heating. Hence the name. Stinks tho!

Girlfriend has already started wearing her down jacket to work in the mornings. Feels around 6 degrees already some mornings here in Edinburgh. Will keep dropping. Some mornings come winter we'll be getting up around 0 degrees, and it will feel colder than that again..

She wears a Mountain Equipment down jacket, and still feels cold in it with her work gear underneath.

Anyway, if you live in a cold area, there's nothing wrong with investing in a really warm coat. If I saw a well priced CG coat in a style she liked, I'd buy it for her at the drop of a hat. She's got 6 years out of her ME one so far and it's like new, so great value there (was sub £200). But something more stylish for work (her place in a bit swanky) would be good and CG jackets are posh enough to get a pass.

Say you pay £400 and get 10 years use from it. eBay it for 50 or 60 quid later. Not bad really.

good price..shame there not available online

These are brilliant jackets and you just won't feel the cold...
Way back I had one of their parka's, very high quality and just about bulletproof...

The jackets are made in Canada ...not Asia...so there is a premium with that, plus their marketing strategy; which protects distribution so they don’t show up in discount stores or outlets....It would be interesting to know how Costco got their fingers on some....

Still a good deal.

The price is a really good deal...

Comes from some endangered Wild Goose

I got a similar Alaskan Parka from Costco 7 or 8 years ago that will probably last another 20 years mainly down to if it isn't -10° I'm sweating cobs in it!

What do you mean by 'work gear' ? Perhaps all she needs is a decent mid-layer.. makes much more of a difference than you might think.. This is just total overkill for UK use imo.

Trust me, I am feeling the cold as well and almost anyone who shakes hands with me comments on how cold my hands are. This is just silly money to spend if you're staying in the UK.

This is the one I wear when it gets a bit nippy

A website cLled end clothing have just issued a 20% discount code "AUTUMN15" which is on for a few days and works on canada goose jackets also. Was looking for a jacket but they didn't have the style/colour that I wanted

May be for some, I bought a coat which is not as warm as this for nearly double this price, saying its a "silly price" is your own perception - it doesn't apply to everyone who wants a nice coat.

£400 quid for a jacket, lol.....
Its true what they say, 'Fools and their money, are easily parted'

It's -146 in here! I thought this jacket was meant to keep you warm!

Yeah that's just your opinion. And it's badly off the mark. Having a decent mid-layer keeps you warm if it keeps you warm. It doesn't if it doesn't. Etc.

Also ignores basic common sense, that women especially will wear a wider range of attire than men, including dresses all through the year. So a big coat can compensate for that. Why layer up and strip off in the warm office when you can simply take on and off your coat?

FWIW, I don't think 400 quid is a lot of money for a really good coat. Not at all. But I would only use something like this as a fashionable winter coat. For hiking in cold weather you can get gear that's lighter and warmer, just not as fashionable for commuting in.

Aye, loads of them in pubs **** cash away every weekend.

Eating sugar laced food, etc.

400 quid is not a lot of money for a coat that you will have for a decade if you make an average income and don't waste your disposable income on crap.

Not everyone is a skint member or shops at primart! Buy once for something that lasts and is up to the job or buy often when stuff falls apart?
