Thx. Great price and by far the best grass seed I have used. Ordered a bag.

Does anyone know how long this lasts? That is how long you can store it before using it?

In other words, a 1kg bag of weeds. The marginal savings are counteracted by lost time and money in buying and maintaining a lawnmower to cut rye, fescue, meadow, etc.

Just what I'm looking for plus the reviews are great too.
Ordered...thanx x

This is good quality seeds and makes your lawn look lush. The colour on the lawn looks amazing.
Mine lasted about a year until the kids decided to have a football match on the lawn. Please be aware when you lay lawn seed, you have to be aware of your soil type and weather conditions (Clay, Sandy, Silty, Peaty, Chalky, Loamy)

Is this just for lawn repairs or can it seed a brand new garden? Just bought a home from Morris homes and they refuse to turf the back garden.

Seeded in October with Wilkinson's luxury seed with impregnated self fertilizer was on offer think that's why it's come up patchy ,usually seed in Spring with good results.Cut and fed the other day, don't no whether to repatch with this or wait to see if it fills out.

Can't complete sale? Delivery only but sale won't complete.....

I wouldn't recommend fast growing grass seed. I sewed some fast growing grass seeds last year, and it grows at a ridiculous speed, about three times faster than normal grass, so expect to cut your grass more often if used..

We find that's a good thing. The patches we're covering are high traffic areas, so having it grow quicker tends to balance with the slower growing in less trodden areas.

Wouldn't established grass on rolls be a better bet? It's what my friend had on his new back garden, it didn't take long to take root.

Do you mean turf? I'm just thinking about the cost.

Depends on various factors - hours of sunshine, traffic, etc, but I would highly recommend Johnsons, get one suitable to your application, from a 5+ job yesteryear, Johnsons always came out on top. 70% of sport arenas in the UK use it - Old Trafford & Wembley included - but the rates they have to pay to say "Old Traffords pitch is our lawn seed" is more than their annual budget for all marketing expenditure.

Turf will root virtually just as quick as lawn seed will germinate and root, but will give a finished lawn in less time. Yes, it costs more, but it will give you a nice lawn quite quickly. Check your local stockists delivery date and get it as soon as it comes in, otherwise, a lot of it will die, even if it looks nice and green there and then - chloroplast is destroyed fairly quickly in darkness and takes far longer to repair as is the case of rolled turf.

You will want, probably need, to overseed turf rolls anyway, particularly at the joins, otherwise you end up with a lawn of rectangular patches.

Also, you have to look at how much time and effort it will take to get a good lawn. Throwing grass seed onto some mud and hoping it'll grow into a lush lawn does require far more work before and after to get the desired result. The ground needs prepped regardless if you go for turf rolls or seed. Now is a good time to do turf rolls, unless you want to wait until its warmer outside and need to spend early morning and late evening every night with the hose out and lots of cutting.

I have a laurel hedge next to a lawn (side of house) and half of it is quite shady due to the hedge despite cutting it to half its height. last summer, I removed all the lawn as it was pretty much completely dead. I also dug up the ground a little and removed a hell of a lot of roots that grew sideways from the laurel that was just under the lawn - most if it looked like plastic and it covered 90% of the lawn.
Does anyone have any recommendations on what type of lawn to put down, firstly for shade (I.e. no direct sun at all) and secondly, to deal with re-growing laurel roots?

I have tried calling several landscape gardeners to give them the job, but most of them are lazy sh*ts and never call back/turn up for the quote appointment.

this Canada grass is thicker, coarse, and its lovely that it grows so quickly. on the downside, it grows so quickly, is coarse and thicker.... ;-)

it will grow in places that find it hard going though. needs cutting twice as much as a regular domestic grass easily.

Thanks OP, voted. Got a patchy lawn in my new house, needs some TLC.

Great quality, hardy grass seed - withstands our dogs well, and coped fine with being under piles of dead leaves in Autumn for prolonged periods.

Hot from me - only ordered some off eBay a couple of days ago for £7.85 inc del - but that was for 1/2KG

Is this actually in stock for delivery anywhere now? I have entered postcodes from all the places i have lived which covers many major cities in the north west and i get no stock back.
