Cancel up to £1500 of student loans in Wales

Seeing as old expired deals are getting such heat (Clarity card for example) I felt that I'd dig out this one and polish it off. This is for anyone that may not be aware.

The exact details are complex and I'm sure some comments can explain better.

It's very good as you can cancel up to £1500 of your student loan for not much effort.

Enjoy!

Typical.........what about England?

Wow that's impressive - my first thought was too good to be true, but does look fantastic if you are able to claim it.

Not sure its a deal though.

Interesting, wonder if they will wipe off the final £600 from my wife's Masters.

easy, England pays for it.

what i never understood about student loans company was, that with all that debt and debt is an asset right, how come it never paid off student debts by clever, adroit, astute participation in the market, the banks did that particularly well why not slc?

students as investors

I have no idea how the Welsh assembly get away with a lot of things they do

God pays the difference, after all its his country.

That statistic is absolute nonsense, do you really think only 180,000 people in Wales earn over £10k per annum?

Thanks for this, I can confirm that this really does work. I passed this on to my girlfriend who went to uni in Wales, she has spoken to them this afternoon and got it all sorted. Once she starts to make repayments, £1500 will be cancelled from the loan amount. This isn't a deal for a fancy TV or a shipping container full of loom bands... but is has saved someone £1500 today — HUKD at it's best

I'm glad this saved your GF £1500. I've grown a bit fed up at HUKD recently with the 50p off 256GB SSD deals gaining 100s degrees and it's a bit like fresh air when a real deal like this comes along. There are quite a few amazing deals like this that have simply been expired but can save a lot.

I've got a deal for saving a lot of money on flights and I suspect it's what holiday pirates use but don't disclose. I'm in two minds whether to share it as it may become inundated

^ share it fo sho!

It's compensation for being Welsh

Pay your debts, lazy students

That's why the English are hated worldwide due to comments like that.

Any similar things for Scotland? I still have £6000 left of my student loan to pay. I graduated 11 years ago!!!

Did she live in Wales prior to going to uni?

I was born in/lived in England but went to uni in Wales - wondering whether I'd be eligible for this. Probably worth my time phoning up to ask.

They are mostly the English ex-pats.

Why on earth should Welsh or Scottish students have to contribute anything? I am an English student who worked my way out of abject poverty and hopelessness in one of the UK's worst places (not Scotland or Wales), working two jobs to get to Uni.. built up £15,000 of student debt that despite paying £1,000 a year or there about for the past 10 years I have (according to SLC) £14,300 still to pay as my ridiculously high £80 a month deductions barely cover the interest. So over £10,000 of contributions equates to £9,300 interest and £700 repayments.

That my friends is why nobody else should have to.... I will never be able to pay off my credit card debts, my student loans, never get a mortgage.... at least the Scots and Welsh can! Its about time the English were the slaves after 100's of years of colonial rule.... where are my shackles sir?
