As part of their current offers, Clas Ohlson is advertising their candy floss machines at half price. Similar machines retail elsewhere at around £25. Saw these aswell as chocolate fountains and popcorn machines at their St.Alban’s store.Appears to be ex Christmas stock with a gift tag which appears to accompany the box.Looks like a bargain.

Why did I order this!?

I got this when it was on offer just before Christmas and gave it as a Christmas Eve present to keep the kids quiet. My first one turned on then died after one minute and they sent me another one. You get a little scoop with it for the sugar, you can use ordinary sugar yes but only use one measure at a time. I bought these from eBay as they were 3 for 2 but like the pink one best. Top tip - clean it when it’s still warm otherwise get a chisel to chip the sugar off the edges of the bowl!

Sweet deal, has anyone used one of these? Do they spin normal sugar?
You can use granulated but I've heard caster works better
Good spot OP

Hey there @qwales the instructions outside of the box says, “just add sugar” I’m assuming the particular quantities and any specific sugar is mentioned within the instruction manual. But I’m certain you can use normal granulated sugar.

Thanks @alien
Nearest store is 100 miles away so its + £4.95 for delivery :-(

Maybe because it was recommended by your dentist???
Recommended by the BDA.
We have one... granulated sugar worked best for us - caster sugar just shot out all over the place.

It's pretty much a novelty - quite slow at spinning the sugar... Very small capacity (we can't make more than 3 sticks from one scoop of sugar). If you pull this out at a kids bday party be prepared to pull your hair out in frustration.
Clicked on Cold by mistake, sorry OP. Good deal.
Use twice then retire to back of cupboard.

So Candy floss is just plain sugar?
Why does it taste different?

As directed I put one scoop of sugar in but it makes almost no candy floss. Tried with granulated and caster.
