Another bike deal but this looks really good to me (though I'm not really a bike expert) - 2016 bike from reputed maker (alu with carbon forks) reduced from £600, decent groupset which can be upgraded. Most sizes still available.

This was posted 7 months ago and got some heat - now cheaper with code SAVE25. Code ends MONDAY!

Also free next day delivery.

I look forwards to hearing your views and sorry if posted already (I have searched) or if there's anything wrong with this post.

Cracking price for a great starter bike

I got my first bike when I was about 4, it had stabilisers - I imagine most people will have experienced the same. Who is this a starter bike for?

Bargain entry level road bike. Voted hot.

So many good bike deals about at the moment, this is a great deal...ride it and enjoy it and when the parts wear out, upgrade groupset/wheels ect around the great frame

Nice deal...... far better value for money to spend £325 on this, as opposed to recent supermarket bike deals on here.

That's a bit like asking what's better a Vespa or a jet ski!

What are you going to use it for? Commuting, fitness, etc? What terrain? All roads, canals, trails etc?

Good value first proper road bike ,non-stabiliser ,to see if you like it or going to work bike and back of course.

You cant compare them. You've linked to a hybrid, this deal is for a road bike.
Completely different bikes for different purposes.

I use it for commuting on roads and cycle tracks, light gravel at worst

That is insane, The Caad 8 is one of the best aluminium frames ever made.

Personally, i'd stick to a hybrid..... although if you not going over really rough ground, you can do away with front suss. This will give you a lighter bike with the simplicity of rigid forks.

The Cannondale is a pedigree road racer, the hybrid will be turned down a notch to keep it friendly for casual cyclists. For the money its excellent.

would love a bike like this i use a Raleigh team banana free from Facebook it's about 20 plus years old gets me to work though and locked up at a sports centre no one will pinch it.

Why people posting to compare Boardman's bikes from Halfords? So rude.

very tempting

My suggestion would be stay away from Halfords at your price point. Get down to your local bike shop and get some advice. Do some research. Sit on a few bikes. Find out what you like before parting with your cash

buy a mtb and enjoy the offroad action, i just got a specialised diverge dsw (drophandle) and i love it, ridden 140km in 8 days on it, proper fast. i then took out my full suspension short travel mtb on saturday yeah mileage and speed wise its not as high but the smiles and laughter are so much better ;0).

ps. on your bike choice my bike came with tiagra 4700 its very nice looking, it is in effect the last 105 10 speed. it works well and gear changes are smooth, it also comes with a 32T rear cog on the casette (granny gear) so will get you up steep inclines easier than the 105 with a 28T largest cog. Reading up online the 105 will not take a 32T cassette.
with the hills i ride i like/need the extra spread of gearing.

I am always amazed that people are willing to spend much on a bike. A posh bike, even if you lock it up someone will still have it away. What's the point if you daren't leave it for a few minutes while you go in the supermarket.

Yeah but you use common sense, get a decent lock and lock it properly...

Leave my road bike out for hours, two attempts at cutting my 2 locks,

You can get wheel skewers (things that hold the wheels on) and saddle clamps that can't be removed without a special key. They're a bit pricey though if you go for a "super tough" titanium version. Cycling is great for me because buses cost a small fortune and I don't drive but ya theft is a problem. Probs best to lock a bike in as public a place as possible, during the day, with a bike lock that is long enough to go through both wheels. edit: mb I should use two locks too.

Thanks for the reply... I have read Boardman Bikes are good quality and value for money... I was just hoping for an opinion on that particular bike compared to the other. If I ask in halfords I won't get a balanced opinion I imagine. This is part of my careful research.

Halfords is my local bike shop although I understand what you are saying, I will also consider smaller shops although in my experience I have found cheaper deals online.
