That is a god price.

I always wanted a 7D mkll and this lens. I have a fast running dog and wanted some good pics.

Just ordered. Now I can get into premier league matches foc.

I wish Nikon do the same.

Great spot Marin thank you

You'd probably be a lot better off with a 70-200 f/2.8 if that is your use case.

Yeah have read good reviews, but £100.00 dearer...

Nice find, but if you have a 70-200 2.8 you may be better off getting a 2x tele converter

Got this lens last week and been paid out the cashback making it this price. Amazon have but £200 on list price.
Great toy get one if you can.

Great price for this, heat added, but I think I'd rather have the Sigma equivalent for the price difference between the two.

Had the money saved for one of these amongst others....had children instead

Had to do this decision half a year back and went for sigma. Used it mostly for birds photography.

Sigma adv:
- better reach,
- pretty good optics for price,
- cheaper

Sigma disadv:
- There is some extra work with sigma, would recommend to buy docking station and fine tune focusing,
- loses value faster than Canon lens.

The sigma 150-600 sport would be a great alternative, not the contemporary.

Yeah looked at the Sport but that's not far off the Canon in terms of price

Sport is water resistant and heavier. Not better optically or faster focus. New Tamron is worth a look.

great deal, voted hot, bought 10

In my experience, aviation photography tends to be done from outside, therefore theweather sealing of the sport is why I commented not the contemporary.

This is what I do for a living, trust me the Canon is the better buy. Ok it is more expensive than the others but you can use the 1.4 extender III and still auto focus. Yes the 600mm has more reach but ask yourself how many images have you taken at 600mm?

EDIT: I forgot to say there is a weight difference of over 1kg!

Try putting a weighted jacket on the beast or maybe get it to drag a sledge as that will keep the speed in check.
If its a husky the latter is the better bet.

The cashback amount is also stackable with the Canon Lens reward cashback on this lens. Another £105 if you've bought a 77D or above in the past 3 months: canon.co.uk/len…mo/

Think of it more like spending the money you've now saved if you had rented somewhere more expensive. Your sufferance deserves the treat

Or if you really want one of these and don't want to part with 3 months rent ........ go for the previous version of this lens at about a months rent from a well known auction site, same lens title but "I" rather than "II". The older lens was the "bees knees" until the "II" came along, you'll not see a difference in image quality.

It would be worth directly talking to canon they might give you even cheaper ... being a potential customer.... ...

I had the Sigma for a year on a 7Dii. Splurged on the 100-400ii (used) a few months ago and the difference is very noticeable. I was never quite happy with the focus accuracy or speed of the Sigma... the Canon is just perfect pretty much every time. I am the limiting factor! I mainly shoot rugby and football.

The bigger and heavier the lens - less likely to use it.

An excellent point. I could only use the Sigma on a monopod, but I'm happy hand-holding the Canon, albeit with the set-up on a shoulder strap.

Christ, photogear prices are through the roof these days. I remember getting mine used for £600 and new was only about £1100.

Then again I've just reignited my photography interest but bought Sony and their lens prices are insane.

Just purchased a 7D mk ll for £675 opened used twice form new... now to get a lens £$£$£$

No... Think I'm getting mine from E-Infinty £805.00 at the moment, was £795.00 last week, but then still can't decide between the Canon 100-400 or the Sigma 150-600

Yeh, never mind, I seem to have bad luck buying electronics from eBay. Got caught by scammers 3 times for a ££470 item now the camera.

Never lost any money eventually, just the hassle.

That is a tough choice, I wouldn't know enough to answer properly. I know I do want the Canon 100 to 400 II
