Excellent deal for an entry level DSLR, however i'd recommend a sony alpha for a first DSLR. Still hot!:D

Really good deal, even before the cash back!

I like this thinking about getting my 1st DSLR

Only minus is the LCD display is very small.

Not if you are in it for the long game. In terms of the upgrade path, Canon and Nikon is the way to go. Most serious amatuers and all pros use Canon and Nikon gear with their larger range of lenses and its expensive to jump brands once you have bought into one of them. Of course if you have some good Minolta legacy glass that you can use then the Sony would be worth considering.

Fantastic price, voted hot. Great for someone wanting to start out in photography.

Loved my Sony for exactly that - picking up cheap knackered Minolta lenses on eBay and repairing/cleaning them up. Regret selling it now, but fell on hard times!

Think it is a very good deal and ordered to replace my ageing 400D here is the link for the Canon cashback canon.co.uk/win…ck/

169.99 for a DSLR? This is awesome! You don't even get a used one on ebay for that price. Unbeatable for someone who wants to get into photography. Fix it to manual mode, add the nifty-fifty (around 60 quid on ebay) and you've got cheap but decent equipment for learning how to take photos. Once your're upgrading, you might even be able to resell it for more than you payed here. This is serious heat, not some 5p you save off carrots at lidl.

Great price, love mine, great entry level

Mrtaxi

Why did you order it to replace your ageing 400. This is no better than the 400

The 1100D is Canons entry level DSLR & as such is perfect for beginners as it has almost all the features of far more expensive models plus 'Beginner-friendly 'Basic+ control Screens' which guide the user through all the different settings and controls.

I had a couple of 400D's, & this is far better than those were - Digic IV against Digic II / Movie recording / ISO 6400 against 1600 to name just a few improvements.
This would also make an ideal back up camera for weddings photographers.

Depends how much have you got to spend ??
Nothing the matter with the standard 18-55 IS {Image Stabilized} kit lens @ £75 from Park cameras >> parkcameras.com/186…tml
The best zoom for the money I found to be C anons 55-250mm IS {currently £179} >> parkcameras.com/214…tml

yeah just seen slightly different lens damm still good deal

Okay guys, just bought this and the price changed after completing purchase to £239.99 - the price before the cashback...seems they have made an error...or a deliberate scam...lets say error as its Park

Arguably a better deal here:

hotukdeals.com/dea…206

You get an additional EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II Lens for just £60 more (regular price on the site: £129.99, or unboxed for £75).

Might as well get the camera, lens and case delivered together, then get your additional £30 cash back from Canon and voila!

Well the problem here is that its not £199.99 but £239.99...need expiring...before anyone else gets overcharged

...and is that going to overcharge you as well...I think so.Also if they come as a whole unit (camera and lens ) you will only get the first £30

the prices still appear, they changed the price in the confirmation order? that's not good, but they did not fixed the listings...

Shifty site? No... Park are ok usually, right?

Hmmm... ponders if I want to go through with a deal from them now?!

They changed the price once you have submitted the order...the payment page shows the reduced price but once you submit your CC details and pay it miraculously changes to the higher price...and then also on the email confirmation.

Yes Park are usually okay but not the first time they have made a mistake in their pricing/advertising

I would take a screen grab of their checkout, with the prices as advertised and then if it comes to it, send it to them as proof that this was the price they were advertising at...

My confirmation says £199, but I did order a few hours ago.

Oh, I've done that...never seen a checkout say one price and then change upon submission though...still food is calling and this can wait until tomorrow.

It is an error on the listing as this price clearly says you pay this before cashback

That's without the bag...there's an additional discount when you buy it with the bag

I wouldn't be booking a wedding photographer that used one of these as a back up

I would, as in the right hands this will take great photos. It's the person behind the camera that counts.
