The undisputable Canon EOS 350D is the true reference in the product range that impressed the digital reflex world with its capacities and high performances. The manufacture now proposes the worthy predecessor EOS 400D.
Repeating the concept of the predecessor, the EOS 400D integrates a CMS sensor of more than 10 millions pixels, a splendid luminous 2.5 inch screen and the DIGIC II image processor. These optimises reaction speed and image editing, so to produce quality and real results. In the same way, the AF system goes from 7 to 9 points ensuring exceptional performances even in low light condition, thanks to the very sensitive central collimator.
The big innovation of the EOS 400D is the answer to classical reflex camera weaknesses, which is dust accumulation when mounting or removing the lens on the body. In fact, this stunning model has an integrated EOS cleaning system employing three methods to fight against this problem. It uses internal mechanism design to prevent and limit dust introduction, thanks to the antistatic under pass filter level and Elimination, generating high frequency vibrations when under tension. The visible dust on the sensor is considerably reduced allowing you to photograph with complete tranquillity.
In order to apprehend the full possibility of this splendid digital reflex, the EOS 400D is delivered with a high quality Canon EF-S 18-55 mm lens, adapted to most sensors. Conserving the ergonomic and interface feature, as well as been compatibility with canon EF and EF-S, the EOS 400D is registered in the glorious EOS digital lines and offers the most important possibilities and trustworthiness to the passionate.

* I should also note this is the standard package, not the body only, it comes with the 18-55mm lens. Cheapest anywhere is Devon Camera [www.devoncamera.co.uk] at £519.99. RRP is £719.99...

Thanks, never even noticed that..I'll fix it

I took the description from Pixmania but didn't read through it!

i need a slr camera not the best as i only need it for my as course has to be decent and have the function to tunr the flash off. this one is too expensive looking around £100 mark, can you help Grudge????? or any one else????

Even second hand you're not going to get a digital SLR for hundred pounds, heck I can't even find secondhand lenses for my dslr for under a hundred. Or is it a film SLR you're looking for? Lens cost is still going to be high but you might be able to get the body within that price.

As Johnmcl7 said, it is highly unlikely you'll get a digital SLR for anywhere near 100, you'd maybe manage a secondhand body for around 200-300 on eBay if you're lucky.

Your best bet would be to opt for a film SLR, but you'd possibly still have to go secondhand. You should be able to get some good deals on some of the older Nikon models, for example the F50, F60, F70 etc. I personally owned the F601 and I would recommend it.

i dont want a digi one i want a film one

Thats an amazing price, time for an upgrade!

Yep, cracking deal - if I hadn't jumped on the Olympus Dslr deal a couple of months ago I would be ordering this one for sure.

Voted hot and rep given.

John

Nice deal Thanks for this!

Thanks John

I would be taking up this amazing offer myself, were it not for the fact I've already bought the Nikon 18-200 VR lens. It really is a great deal as most retailers are taking a lot more for this kit.

I'm just waiting on the D80 body coming down now!

Really nice site, shame it doesn't do Zuiko Digital lens though as I find sources for them tricky to find.

Cheers Rayman.. yeah I did, and hadn't realised you couldn't edit your post.

Dixons are now the cheapest at £516.96, so this deal still is by far the best for this camera. My sister just bought one, and I had the chance to check it out today. It's an amazing camera!

Well they're still offering it, but yes it's not in stock at the moment as is the same with many retailers just now. If you want it now, I'd say your best bet would be Jessops. My sister got her 400D from there with little wait, and you can now get it for less than she did.

Jessops are currently selling it for £532.49 (online only) in Black or Silver, but using the discount code DANCER... you save £25 off orders over £500 bringing the cost down to £507.49 + FREE delivery.

Add to that the Quidco cashback of 3% and you will be under £500 with delivery in a few days at most. Should be in stock and shipping next day though...

Hope that helps

Also for anyone who's interested, the cheapest body only (sans 18-55mm lens) price on this camera is currently Cameras2U at £474.95 and same at it's sister site Shopping4Cameras.

At Jessops it is selling for £489.99, but using the code DASHER will get you a discount of £15 on £250+ orders, making it £474.99 before Quidco.

Jessops have 3% Quidco (£14.25), and Cameras2U 2% (£9.50)... so that makes Jessops cheapest again.

Body only price at Jessops = £460.74

i found www.mycameras2006.com offer the body only at £428.88 incl VAT

and warehouseexpress.com offer it at £499.99

though mycameras2006 is the cheapest, i've never dealt with them so couldn't tell you what they are like

Good find missysx, I'd never heard of mc2006 before, but very good prices and look to be a reputable dealer

I'm getting £452.88 for the body though, + shipping of £5.17... is there a discount somewhere?

*edit* just noticed they are imported from Asia too, hence the prices, so possible chances of import duties?? I would personally stick to a UK supplied model myself.....

with the curry's deal, they have a bundle with tamron 50-200 lens for £ 70 more - (if the 18-55 lens is included, then this is quite a good deal. -
the description does not mention it. I am not too keen on paying delivery charges and find out that it's just body and 50-200.
i'll give them a call - (probably wont be too much help if they are just reading from their comp database).

Arrivied today, very nice camera. Also includes an offer in box for a free 256mb CF card.

Just now need a battery grip as bigger lenses kinda put the centre of gravity and balance of the camera at the front a bit too much.

Good stuff You only need sign up on the Canon website to get your CF card, but as usual with these offers, it will take up to 28 days to arrive. Should be in the box IMO. So you'll probably need to grab one just now to start snappin!

Devn Camera are the cheapest for the battery grip, but you might pick one up on eBay as it was also compatible with the 350D. Anyways here it is for £86.99 at Devon:

Enjoy the camera!

Just updating this offer, with a slightly better one for any Egg customers...

Dixons is selling this camera with the 18-55mm lens for £498.95, and Egg Card users can get 5% off at Dixons by going through the link on Egg's credit card site.

So that gets you £24.95 cashback, making the camera a marginally better: £474.00
