Not for everyone, of course, but the 5D MKIII is an amazing pro camera - and this is the cheapest ever price.

Usually £2199 at Currys which is one of best prices around anyway.

But you can currently get £130 off marked price with code CANON130. Ends 06/05/2014

Makes it £2069

PLUS another £150 cashback. Ends 07/05/2014

Makes it £1919!

(Oh, and don't forget Quidco - another 1.5% I think?)

Good deal

Try portus digital. Great service and cheaper. I get all my kit from there including 2x 5dmk3 and lenses

Hot from me portusdigital are grey imports meaning if you have a fault it has to go back to the country of origin for repair

Don't forget if you can get it instore you can also get £50 off a £750 spend with O2 priority

Thumbs up for Portusdigital!! Happy to buy from them!

Good good

£170 difference between Portusdigital and Argos...
When it's about big money (> £1000 = big money for me) i prefer to choose well known shop for the peace of mind.
Great deal @ Argos

Who in their right mind would buy a grey import camera, unless they have money to burn.

I like having a bit of peace and mind with my purchases, grey imports just seem uber shady.

would rather spend a little more for reassurance alone!

Me, bought a 6D body for £900 couple of months ago, not really bothered, this is a good deal though.

Unfortunately I cannot afford this at the moment but heat added as this is a brilliant DSLR camera and at a great price.

Why because they are called Grey?, I have bought plenty of grey imports and never had a problem with them and when i have the import company has dealt with things instantly and in most case better than the manufacturer would.

Nikon i have dealt with the past are are very very difficult to deal with.

Choose a decent Importer and you will be fine, The savings on Glass can be 40% it is very much worth it.

See lenses im alright with, its bodies as a rule, im just bad with luck, knowing me id buy one and the battery would explode or something silly.

Perhaps im just a little oldfashioned, but I am swaying towards giving grey importing a try, especially like you say when prices drop so much on glass and really what risk would that carry?

I guess im just careful with what I buy just incase.

I always use Panamoz brilliant unbeatable prices and fast delivery with there UK 2 & 3 year warranty on cameras and lenses.
Just bought a Canon 70-200F2.8 at an unbeatable price of £1325 compared to near 2k here in UK.

Nothing wrong with imported gear, it's exactly the same as UK stock, just half the price...
In particular Fuji UK with it's comedy pricing, the exact same kit is half the price in Japan.
Not surprised they have to continually offer promotional lenses to encourage buyers.

I think we should all buy imports then maybe the manufacturers wouldn't rip us UK consumers off continually.

£1749 grey import v £1919 peace of mind, ethically sound, AND free copy of Lightroom/Elements

No brainer for me.

I also vote for Panamoz anytime. Had ordered 4times and always had excellent support. Had to return a lens back this year. Emailed them one day, free pickup the next day, 2 days later the lens was in HK, and my bank account was credited the day after.
When you pay by bank transfer the price for D5Mlll is £1660

Heat added, ordered 10

Wish I'd seen that last night (though my bank balance thanks me for having an early night)! Gone back up now

Me, I bought my 7d 2 years ago and it was £350 cheaper through Digitalrev. I worked out I could send it off to be repaired 2 times in this country and still be better off.

Aren't there specialist price comparison sites for those who want to buy from illegal/pub traders? ;-)

I did. Olympus offers international guaranty + my seller (HDewcamera) got a physical UK-based store and offer 2 extra years of warranty. Canon offers international guaranty on their L lenses. Dunno about Nikon...

Really? They may have a UK-based office with a handful of employees, but I don't think they have a store...?

As for the international warranty... I'm not 100% sure this is true any more... I know there was a change recently with Canon offering their EWS (European Warranty System) - definitely worth checking.

I take it you are talking about the UK government here? as they are the only ones that's giving us all a good shafting not HK or china traders.

BTW you also get a 2 year warranty with the cameras and a 3 year warranty with the lenses from Panomoz and nothing but good praises from many of the photography forums with many thousands of satisfied customers.

Also it is you the Sole Importer who is responsible for any Taxes or Duties ,ask me if I want to take that risk as the old dog would say Oh Yes especially when I am saving a massive 40% on 1 lens with an extra 2 years warranty over the 1 year UK warranty.

Canon do not give a international warranty anymore on there L range lenses I think that stopped in 2010

My point is: pretty much ANY product can be got cheaper than promoted on HUKD if you circumnavigate import tax.

Is portusdigital is reliable??planning on buying new lens for my dslr

Nonsense, … Nonsense, http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consumer_Products/warranty/http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consumer_Products/EWS_Contact_Information/index.aspx

That's only the case if the camera comes from the EU and you get an EWS card in the box... if the camera comes from Hong Kong, the EWS won't cover it...

£1949 from flash camera,us imports, but with uk warranty support,i've bought camera's from him before & had no problems

They offer in-store pickup and other people in forums mentioned a store.

Ah ok. I'm glad Olympus still offers international warranty.

Personally I stopped using UK stock from shops which don't offer 2-years at least warranty. Everywhere else in the EU, due to compliance with the EU regulations, shops offer 2 years.
