I am wondering who paid or not paid for tax using eglobalcentral. Please leave your comment...

I'd want more than dual pixels for that kind of money.

And no EU warranty

They avoid V.A.T by sending items with a lower value and usually listed as 'parts'.

You won't get a warranty and if it arrives with issues, this company 'seems' to acquire lots of items with 'issues', you will have to pay for shipping back to HK.

Check Trustpilot and avoid this company.

Use PayPal and feel safe. 3 on 5 is not that bad score on Trustpilot.

I ordered my Canon 700D 4 years ago from eGlobal and had to pay tax because it came from China via DHL, which is, as I understood, something that happens every time you use one of these fast couriers. Whatever I ordered from China (usually cheaper things) didn't come with the tax. The camera is still in working condition and I use it very often.

I am really tempted to order this one if there're no additional charges.

Hmmm I vowed never to touch eGlobal but £778.00 (with code) for the Canon 7D MK2 is rather tempting...

I've used E Global (and a few other grey importers) quite a few times with no problems...they usually offer longer warranties too....

How long you was waiting for delivery? As it seems now they are sending from France within 6 days without tax charges.

Even with a PayPal claim you will have to pay to return the item if faulty.

Canon is most reliable cameras. Why you want to send it back?

Over £1,000 with eglobal. Brave, brave people.

Dammit, i bought the 80D last xmas to replace the 750D i bought the XMAS before....

It was quick (less than week) because it was delivered with DHL. Same thing happened recently when I ordered a phone from AliExpress. I had to pay a tax. Apart from that, usual delivery takes around one month. Once one item didn't arrive, but complaining via PayPal resolved that quickly without any hassle.

I know people are bit scared with grey imports, but I would like to hear if anyone really had some issues ordering from eGlobal.

Did you read the Trustpilot reviews?...

I would personally suggest paying extra to get it from a UK known retailer from my experience - I bought a 70D brand new from john lewis and although you dont expect things to go wrong - they did. The internal lens had a scratch within it somehow so everytime I took a picture and looked through the viewfinder I could see this micro scratch - I have no idea how such a thing happens and it wasnt dust either which I initially thought it was.

I took it back to JL who replaced it without issue.

Is it worth the gamble on paying import tax, having a problem and then having to send it back at your own cost, wait for a refund and then get an alternative? (assuming theres no issue on the refund front from this foreign company).

Sometimes its worth paying that bit extra for the peace of mind.

This is just my opinion personally !

I think that's the difference, its not the fact its a grey import its more to do with eGlobal as a company /
If this deal was offered by say HDEW - Portus - E-Infinity (all importers)
I would have ordered straight away

Portus £1269.00

3 year UK warranty

Warranty & Returns : Are my products covered under warranty?

Yes. All products come with a 12 month warranty. All you need to do is to retain your invoice.

Some of our products automatically have 2 or even 3 year UK warranty's and this is shown on each applicable product.

Definitely it's better to buy from regular sources and have that peace of mind. But John Lewis sells this camera for £1728 which is almost £600 or 50% more.

Is it worth gambling? I can't tell that.
From my previous experience yes. From the experience of other people on Trust Pilot maybe not.
But for me the fact that eGlobal exists for this long leaves the impression there're more people who are happy with them then those who are not.

I would take reviews with a pinch of salt I would just add too. I work in marketing as my side-gig and believe me you can hire marketing firms that leave positive feedback as part of their services
