Stock in many locations is seems. I like this camera although it is now an old and flawed design (read the reviews) but the printer is expensive to run and not particularly good - ebay is loaded with new unwanteds at about £40. Very good price if you can be bothered to sell the printer.

I am looking for a cheap basic digital camera for pictures of family & friends and uploading e bay pictures for selling stuff. Dont need anything fancy, just reliable and easy to use and cheap. Would this be good purchase anyone? Or are there better and cheaper options out there?

Any advice gratefully received

I have this camera and am regularly tempted to drown it in a bucket of water.

Seems poor after the Powershot A620 I used to have.

Just waiting for a good deal on a Panasonic FZ8

Main Problems are:

[LIST]
[*]Flash Recycle time poor
[*]Zoom feature is not normal rocker type switch

However it's really not a bad little camera. The printer I know nothing about. All of these printers a far more expensive to use than the larger, more able types. There should be considered in price to the old Polaroid films with instant pictures. Used with that mindset they are nice to have. However walking around with a printer is certainly more cumbersome than the good old fashioned Polaroid camera

EDIT: That little printer is the dye sublimation type. All I can say is that about 2-3 years a go I looked at a HiTi dye sublimation printer for a specific requirement, and it was highly favoured for the un rippable paper that was used, and very fast print times. I believe you buy ink and paper as a set which certainly would be more costly than inkjet printing.

For sure dye sublimation printing does have advantages over inkjet printing, but in reality not at this level.

YES, the printer IS expensive to run BUT the quality of the pics are by far the best I've ever had from a home printer (and I've had HP, Lexmark, Kodak & Brother printers in the pasts).Have voted this hot as the Camera is a nice if slightly old, model
