These are really nice little cameras with good image quality for every day use.
The addition of the optical viewfinder means you can frame shots nicely even in very bright conditions.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS7 is widely accepted to be the best camera for around £100. See review:

I would probably agree with you but this is a very good camera and a good deal for anyone looking for a pink or blue example.

I agree with you mate. Personally I would go for Panasonic FS7 purely because of amazing (punchy/vivid) colour reproduction. Bear in mind it has other weaknesses such as visible noise in low light condition. But for sub 100 pounds, you can't go wrong. The Canon IXUS 95 is not a bad camera either. A lot of people say canon offer true-to-life color which I think it's a bit flat and not lively. The optical view finder is on the small side too.

Thanks just ordered the panasonic from play .com with £99.99 free accessory (8gb Memory card, Gorillapod or case). Have always fancied a Canon Ixus though!

5 star review on the IXUS 95 IS from ]PC Pro

I would always have the backup of a optical viewfinder if you have the choice.

I also think the Panasonic colours are a little too false and prefer the images from the Canon.

Regarding the Canon vs Panasonic debate above, I've always been more than happy with my previous 6 different models of Canon Ixus. Whenever I have succumbed and bought a different make of camera as an upgrade, I have always inevitably sold it on after a short while to buy another Canon.

Case in point, I have just sold my 6 month old Panasonic TZ7, and am looking at a Canon! The TZ7 is widely thought of as the best camera in it's class, but I find the colours too muted, and the pictures have too much grain/noise at ISO 100 or above.

Go with a Canon, in my opinion! (please note, this is just MY opinion, based on owning about 12 digital cameras in the last 10 years)

which is better this on A3000 from argos?

You can always use the comparison tool over on dpreview to look at the features at least, here's FS7 versus Ixus 95:-

In outdoor conditions with bright light a viewfinder is essential. Holding the camera up to your face to view also helps stabilise the camera and reduces camera shake. Very few cameras are now available with view finder. I would think this is one of the few available at a reasonable price with an adequate specification.

I have gone for an Ixus 100is because I wanted a view finder and a very compact camera but it is more expensive.

Got my second Ixus - excellent quality, and very fast recovery allowing rapid shooting. This price is excellent.

Great price for my favourite camera I ever owned

Did look at the Panasonic, but most reviews pointed at the IXUS as better and I cant complain

I paid £150 on Amazon nearly a year ago (mine is a cool silver one tho), and it came with free Lowepro case which is very nice too

Voted hot for a good deal
