Canon has completed its Digital IXUS line with the 950 IS, an ultra-compact and stylish digital camera. It has an in-built 8-megapixel CCD sensor, which is one megapixel more than its predecessor, the IXUS 850. This digital camera elegantly combines an optical image stabiliser and a DIGIC III image processor that improves exposure, colours and visual rendering.

Youll be able to monitor all your shots via the 2.5 LCD screen and focus on a particular object or face, for example. This Canon camera includes a face-detection mode for harmonious photos with stamped-out shadows and a more homogenous lighting.

The IXUS 950 IS has an ISO sensitivity of up to 1600 that adapts adapt to any exposure conditions. In addition, this camera includes Canon's exclusive My colours mode, an anti-red-eye mode and several scene modes such as saturated, neutral, softened, and of course, sepia and black &white. Capable of recording short video sequences, the IXUS 950 IS will win over young photo enthusiasts who are keen on entertainment!

comprehensive review ]here. Main complaint is the price, it compares at £230 to £260 so at this price a bargain.

This is a great little camera, expensive at the original £280 + price tag but at £150 a bargain. Got mine about 3 weeks ago and very pleased with the picture quality and features :-)

Would like to know why those voting cold are doing so, great camera and a great price, a good £20 or more ahead of the nearest rivals.

have a second thought if you are going for it. I bought a canon A610 off ebay which was originally purchased from argos in the same month for £140ish when it was around £250ish elsewhere.... seller had given me the receipt as proof of purchase..
Few months later after getting familiar with the features, i discovered that camera shows up "Shake warning" icon on the LCD though pictures and prints come out fine. But still makes me think there is something wrong with it...

great post i wish i had not got the earlier ixus

Great price
