Awesome lens that I have, and it is constantly attached to my dSLR. Produces lush Bokeh, right down to F1.4.

Good price too.

Anyone who gets it in hand is lucky...... considering it is from JESSOPS....

Excellent price for an excellent lens, free next day delivery and don't forget 4% quidco or 4.04% topcashback so possibly another £7.50 off.

Anyone who knows how I can order this thing from Germany?

50mm prime lens is superb for portrait photography, i use this regularly myself and paid around £300 for it, This is a superb price, grab it while you can. I love the shallow depth of field results you can get with this lens.

Wow!! This is a scorching price. Just ordered and gonna sell my f1.8 to part fund it, cheers OP....HOT HOT HOT

Benn after the 1.2f L lens since I bought my Canon 5d...but that is £1200 and I have already bought two horrendously expensive L lenses in the past two months. I have been thinking of buying the F1.8 but its too plasticky and cheap....This is a good price so I have ordered one. None in stores near me so I have ordered one from Derby - I will get the train there tomorrow.

Ordered the HOYA 58mm Filter too for about £20

This should complete my kit for me Italy trip in March - Canon 5d, 16-35mm L Lens, 70-200mm L IS Lens, Canon 430 EX II Speedlite flash, Carbon fibre tripod, Tamrac Evolution 8 backpack...... now the 50mm prime lens (great for low light shots and bokeh)

This is £284 on Amazon. Check this link out to see the pics that this lens can produce:

Very hot price!

Great deal, unavailable for home delivery and no stock within 20 miles of where I live unfortunately.

Very good price, even cheaper than the 2nd hand one on eBay

oos for home delivery

This price is insane, I almost wonder if it is in error - aiming for £285.95?

Excellent price for a great lens

Sweet - reserved

Jessops have been very good to me over the past 6 weeks...

So far I've had -
£160 Nikon binos for £20
£360 Tamron 18-270mm for £100
6 foot projection screen for £10
50mm Nikon fit for £160 - although I let my mate have that one :o)

Not at all Dave, this is a proper metal mounted lens. An absolute steal at this price.

Just order to go with my to buy yet Canon EOS 550D body. Thanks conkast

One known issue with this is that the autofocus is prone to breaking - its quite delivate so you need to store the lens appropriately and not bump it too much.

I bought one of these second hand and had exactly that problem.

Fantastic price for this - I bought the f/1.8 just a few weeks back and was very impressed with the results... I'm tempted to go for this. Cheers op.

I recently purchased the f1.8 for £50 new a few weeks back and thought that was a bargain. This is even better. Reserved and soon to be collected. Many thanks

The sell on value of this lens will be around the £200 mark so you can't really go wrong!

God, no! Don't let the kit lens influence your opinion of *any* Canon lenses! That thing is a toy lens that has no purpose on an SLR other than to enable them to sell SLRs to people who don't understand them.

The 1.4 is a beautiful, beautiful lens and this is an absolute steal!

Think this maybe a mis-price and they wont honour it?

the 50mm F1.8 maybe plastickly and cheap but its still a good lens and excellent for the money

Thankyou, would this be a big step up from a "EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6" that came with the camera?

different lens as its a fixed lens but it will be alot better.....though still depends how good the user is...images should be sharper

as per the review

telling part

"The image quality of the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens is similar to that of the far more expensive Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM Lens at 50mm at the same aperture settings."

now thats a good compliment on this lens when alot of people consider the 24-70 as the best walkabout lens (though the 17-40 and 17-55 are also very good)
