At 70mm this lens is quite sharp, more then 100 mm is soft. I would buy rather done third party lenses eitg this focal range.
Yup, you'd be better off with a used Canon 55-250. I have one that gets thrown in the bottom of my daypack when I'm travelling as I can't lug my Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 around just for the occasional shot, and it cost me around £80 about 2 years ago
I had this and it's tough if you're going handheld without the IS but on a tripod it's OK. it's all up to your style. agree that the 55-250 can be had for similar price and that's got IS and the STM motor

care to explain how you get 70mm from 75-300mm lens
Great lens - I paid £150 in Jessops over 8 years ago. Still using it on my Canon EOS300D.
Good price but be aware that this is a Grey Import. Warranty for 30 days with Amazon, after 30 days with Shine Away.
so I saw one of these secondhand at cash converters yesterday for 89.99
& £65 BIN on eBay.
